Logitech g430-will it work?

I am looking for a headset for my new PS4, originally surround sound wasn't a big deal but after getting a trying out the g430 at Best Buy and finding out the price, now I definitely need it.
Does anybody know if the g430 will work with the PS4?

Is says surround sound requires installation so for PC I guess.
However since it can connect via USB Im guessing it would work on PS4 but you would only be getting stereo sound then.

If you want surround sound (virtual,true and or wireless) check out Sharkoon,Tritton,Astro or even Sony's Pulse headset (Pulse still waiting for PS4 software update to be fully working with surround).

I bought one anyway, $70 and a 15 day return period if I'm unhappy with it so I figured I had nothing to lose.

And it works, the Mic, the speakers, and the surround sound. I also tried it with my computer with the software and it seems to me that the software just allows you to mess with the equalizer. I would really like for logitech to release a PS4 app to do just that.

How have you connected it to the PS4? USB only and audio settings for all I imagine? (chat & game sound)

Then you are getting stereo sound,the PS4 doesnt do surround straight out of the console.So from USB you wont get surround.
You would need a surround sound receiver/processor box like the Tritton 720+ and Sharkoon X-Tatic 5.1 headsets comes with.

Has it got independent sound control for chat and game sound too? You need this feature for any gaming headset.

One thing though you can to get 'virtual surroung' from a stereo headset it use the TurtleBeach Earforce DSS sound processor.

Oh, yeah and everything but the custom equalizer works, including the virtual surround.
I would like to be able to increase the volume of certain frequencies but still an awesome headset.

How did you get this headset to have surround sound on your ps4? mine isn't coming through, only the mic is working?

All I did was plug it in, set it to output audio & chat to headset and it worked.

It will work on PS4 but keep in mind 'you are not getting surround sound'.Only stereo.

Here is a quote from Logitech support on their forums:

Unfortunately, the G430 Surround Sound Gaming Headset will not have the 7.1 Surround Sound feature when connected to the Playstation 4 game console.

I must have gotten a special set because I got surround sound with my set. I don't get any kind of adjustability other than volume, it may not be true 7.1 and I wish it was louder but I can tell the difference between stereo and surround.
