Mac or PC

Same as my other thread, I'm thinking about get a macbook as my next laptop (currently rocking an Asus convertible).

Which one do you use for your everyday stuff, which one do you prefer? why?

I have both and I prefer Mac.
Since Apple has mounted Intel processors on their machines, you can have both Apple OS and Windows on the same PC.
So, I'd get a Mac.

First off, what do you want to do with this laptop? I prefer Apple over anything else out there for everything but gaming. I have a 15" Retina MacBook Pro. Fantastic build quality, really nicely designed and I have yet to see any other PC maker match the fit and finish of Apple products. I used to use my Retina MacBook Pro for work, just replaced it with a maxed out 5k iMac. Great machines, amazing display, but if I were going to be gaming, again I would go with the PC. I think OS X is a much better OS, but Windows 7 is great to, you cannot go wrong with either. Win 8 on the other hand is a mess and should be avoided. Win 10 looks very very nice.

I'm not really looking for gaming on PC, maybe some casual stuff like civilization or similar games. I have PS4 for my gaming needs.

I mostly want to use it for my daily use(Websurfing, music, movies) and maybe blogging/web design if I ever get into that

I would go with a MacBook Pro. They have the best track pads I have seen in a laptop and again the build quality is fantastic. Also, a benefit with OS X is you do not need to do a clean install of the OS every year. I have 4 macs at our office, all working great with no clean installs in over 4 years.

Macs are fine. I use one for photo editing at work. Good interface and user friendly. With that said I hate every fabric of its being, lol. I don't like the look of the computer itself (though I hate all in ones) and I just don't like the Mac OS. Just personal preference. Grew up on Windows. It's what I like and am accustomed to. I still run Windows 7 and I think it's their greatest OS to date. I also like how with a PC you can configure a custom PC for way less than the equivalent Mac and update it to your liking. Which reminds me, I should start looking into a new graphics card.

But to be perfectly honest, if Apple allowed you to put their OS on a PC, I would definitely dual boot in a heartbeat. Their OS for photo editing and art in general works better than Windows. The interface for Photoshop is much more intuitive and it just meshes better. All my every day needs I would use Windows, like browsing, gaming and working on my website.

If you do not want it for gaming but for graphic design reasons then go for Mac.

Personally I am not a big apple fan because I do not like their company policies and attitude.
I once got an iPhone which died on me after 6 months and just to contact the chat support, I had to pay 25 GBP. Hell no!

I always go PC because if you are not a fan of windows, you can always go LINUX...although I do not know if that might be possible on a Mac as well...
