mastered in 4K played on the LG BP730 but not on the PS4

Has anyone tied playing 4K mastered videos? I was able to play Spiderman through my LGBP730 player but I couldn't get the video to play on my the PS4. It just wouldn't get past the play video start screen. The movie loaded it just refused to play. Spiderman on the LG BP730 did play but it was slightly choppy. Both players were upgraded to the latest software yesterday. I played them through my 55LA9650 4K TV. The movie on the LG looked great. I really wish I could et it to plat through my PS4. Does anyone know what is going on?

The PS4 does not support 4K at this time I believe, nor 3D. But it will almost be a sure thing they'll bring out an update in the near future to resolve this.

My other question is, the movie you played is digital or bluray?

Because of its digital, then no matter 4k or not, the PS4 will not play it.

Apparently with the latest update I am now able to play 3D and it looks fantastic on my LG Smart TV.
