Maybe I should not have purchased the PS4

I don't know, if you can't really afford to buy some games, you won't have as much fun and utilize the console to the fullest.
Try to buy one game per month, or wait until the prices drop so you can maybe buy two for the price of one new.

65 and still gaming? I congratulate you sir, you are a champion! As for spending $60 a month, services like Gamefly support the Xbox ONE and the PlayStation 4, so I'd advise getting a subscription to them. It's only $15 or $20 a month, much like netflix and allows you to rent out two games at a time, for an unlimited duration as long as you are subscribed. Over time it'll add up, but if you enjoy playing several different games, it's a fantastic deal. As for if you should keep it or not, I'd say just keep it. There's a LOT of Free 2 Play games coming soon that you won't have to pay for, and once the Genkai network is out, you'll be able to stream and play older PS3/PS2 games by just having an active subscription to PLUS.

Get Playstation Plus for one month or three months, depending on how much you want to spend and get some free games every month, also discounts on other games.

I think you may have been a lot happier with a PS3 or dare I say...........XBOX 360. A catalog of GREAT games on both systems plus the fact that online is free for every game on the PS3. The PS3 and XBOX 360 are far from dead. They have an amazing line up still coming. The PS4's catalog will take a couple years to build up. I am sure you could Trade your PS4 on kijiji or ebay for the money you spent + a PS3 with no problem. If your lucky you might even get a few games. This is just a suggestion. If you do keep the PS4 you only have a limited amount of games to choose from so $60 over a couple months might not be that bad after all. BTW PS+ is only for online play. you don't need it to play the single player campaign.

Is this really a problem? I mean surely you thought of this before tossing out over 300 dollars (I am counting tax) for a console. Besides which you do remember what time of year it is don't you? Digital Monday is coming up soon, Black Friday is coming up next Friday, and the Christmas sales are on the horizon - not that it matters much since there aren't a bijillion games out right now. Go ahead and hold onto the system - it'll work out soon enough.

Unfortunately console launches are never that great when it comes to games, and the true next-gen games like Watch Dogs are delayed for the PS4 but that doesn't mean that there aren't good games for it right now. There are plenty of indie titles and free to play games right now if you don't want to pay for the AAA's right now. You have options.

I believe you lose access to the games you got for free or discounted through PS Plus once your subscription is over.
I could be wrong but I believe that is how it worked on the PS3.

He would loose access to contrast and resogun. Blacklight, DC Online and warframe would still be there as they are FTP. This friday war thunder comes out which is another FTP.

You could sell it on ebay for a profit of like around $300 - $400 and just buy a PS4 later on when they are back up on sale. You should sell it after Black Friday when most of the casual gamers might start wanting one but can't find them in stores. Then with that money you could buy yourself some games and also buy a PS4 when they back on stock.

There are plenty of sites out there, CAG and Dealzon come to mind where you can wait for deals on games. Gamestop typically has buy two, get one free on used games multiple times a year. If you enjoy it then keep it. Games are always higher at launch but the last couple of years I have noticed almost all AAA games come down in price sometimes within weeks of release. Amazon does great trade ins so your best bet is to not be a collector. Trade high, buy low. Thats what I do.

Not sure why you bought a console that you can't afford to buy games for. Game prices have been this high for years. Really even two generations back they were still $50 a pop. I find it hard to believe that you didn't know this. I would return it if I were you.

The sales are coming soon, there are already games coming for sale on Black Friday, so if you couldn't afford full price on PS4 titles then you could just wait for that. Also if you can afford the Ps Plus membership which I believe is $50 a year than there are a ton of deals to be had on games. You can download some games free, and there will be discounts on AAA titles.

I agree with this. If you really want to play the most games for the least amount of money get gamefly. Especially if youre good about remembering to return games

True renting games might be a great option for you and Gamefly is a pretty good service abut I would stick to a PS Plus membership. You get a lot more for less, because as good as Gamefly is over time it's a lot of cash were as with PS Plus you'll have a lot more opportunities to get free games. Like people have said, you have options on what service you use but there are plenty of games to play with your PS4.

I can get what a lot of people are saying but seriously unless you can get a bunch of games, a PS4 will not be fun. There are only so many free games out there and only so many times you can play them. Get it later when both the games and the console are much cheaper, if the mood strikes you that is.

Black Friday is just around the corner! Get as many games that you like as you can that day. And it's not like there are a lot of released games right now. Just give it a try for a couple of months.

I tend to wait for better deals myself and almost never buy games at their full price. I'd personally just hold onto it, I think being able to play some classic games and freebies from the PSN is good enough to tide you over until the game prices drop.

I usually hold out for the deals before I buy games. And it's pretty easy to avoid spoilers if I want to. Though I don't mind reading reviews or watching the first hour or two of gameplay simply to know if a game is terrible or not before I get it. I've managed to avoid paying for what should have been great but turned out terrible games that way.
