Music

Actually, that isn't a stupid question because it in fact does not play them! I figured it would but got curious and threw in a couple of my old CDs and was actually kinda shocked they didn't work. I mean it's basic software. Sony is really sticking to this gaming only thing they have going on with the PS4. Shame because I really would like my PS4 to be my media hub which is still dominated by my PS3.

The PS4 can play mp3s on a USB. Create a folder called /music in your USB root and copy your mp3s in that folder, then plug the USB into the PS4. The app USB Music Player should appear and let you listen to your own music. :)

To add what he said if you do the mp3 route. Make sure the root folder is called "music". I changed it to something else thinking it worked like pretty much every other electronic where it would recognize it automatically that you have mp3s. It doesn't. It only looks for that folder. Kinda a pain in the ass I know. I don't know why they made the PS4 to be a stickler with crap like this. The PS3 you just plug it in and it would figure it out. You have to take extra steps with most things on the PS4 that in my opinion are unnecessary.
