My little review on infamous first light,

Ok , I preordered this game and I live in Australia , so I got it early due to the time difference (21 hours).

When I first started playing the game I noticed alot of similarities from second son, which is expected.

The only difference I could see is how you upgrade your skills by having a separate window with circles that indicate each level you go up to. unlike second son.
The gameplay is cool, she is faster and more fluid than Delsin. If you hold" o" she can't flash run for a very long time without stopping.

The environment is the same, it occurs in Seattle , but is also mixed in the DUP head quarters buildings were you train for your first mission.

You start off by training, then complete mini missions which teach you how to play the game from scratch. I noticed fetch is really fast and it's kinda hard to control ,but I guess it takes getting used to.

The controls are exactly the same as second son, nothing different, which is a good thing for me.
I've played roughly an hour of this game, and I was told it's only 3-4 hours long, so keep that in mind if you decide to get it.

The fighting style is the same as second son, nothing new but the casual punch combos and devastating blast you do by pressing down on the control like second son.

All sucker punch did, was make a separate story about fetch, and didn't change much about the game.
I'd rate this game a 6 out of 10

Is it amazing? No.
Should I get this game if I have second son?
Ugh! Nah.

Honestly, if you don't mind having the same fighting style with a new story and nothing else really mind blowing? Then get it.
But if not, I advise you not to.
Just my 2 cents....

It's DLC not a new game, one couldn't expect many innovations. Thanks for the review, Sekelani. I think I will buy it.

Without a PS4 as of yet, I can only comment on the game as a spectator rather than a player.

I finally finished watching through this last night and I think your review, Sekelani, is pretty much spot on. I watched all of Infamous Second Son and thought it was a decent overall game – even as a spectator. This DLC just didn't have the same appeal to me, which I thought it would have done. I'm glad I watched it through but it's not something I'd personally spend my own money on now that I've seen it.

I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't had chance to play or see this as of yet but it started off promising and then quickly went downhill from there. To me, it feels very much as if it's largely made up of those little side missions from the main game more than anything else. It then perked up again for the final 20/30 minutes or so.

So yes, purely from a spectators point of view, it's a 6/10 from me too.

I think I'd pass on this one. I've played the first game and I've seen a glimpse of Second Son but I don't think it's anything groundbreaking anymore.

It's a standalone DLC right? I mean, if I ma going to purchase this one, don't need to have the original game, right?

If you like Second Son, then you'll probably buy this game and enjoy the similarities. I wasn't a huge fan of Second Son, though, so First Light isn't that big of an interest for me. I'll probably play it sometime down the road, but I'm passing on it for now. If the game had more tweaks to the gameplay to set it apart, then I would probably give it a shot in a heartbeat.
