Nba live series

Did you enjoy the NBA Live series when it was out on Playstation? I thought the series was underwhelming. I liked the 2k series a lot better.

The 2K series was not yet available for the PlayStation 1. It was first introduced in the Sega Dreamcast. When the system went down, that's when the 2K series went cross platform. I loved the NBA Live series when it was still in the PS1. But when I was given the chance to play the NBA 2K games on the Dreamcast and the PS2, I lost faith in the NBA live series.

Probably NBA Live 2000 or Slam 'n' Jam '96 if that counts as the Live series. On the other hand, NBA Live '99 and '98 were fun too.

i had NBA Live 98 for the PS1, and it was pretty fun. i also had NBA Live 08 and 09 for the PS2! the graphics were really cheesy and the gameplay was really poor with lots of glitches. I got to steal the ball a crap ton of times, and scored like 200 points a game. NBA 2K series is alot better, as i have NBA 2K14 for the PS3.

The Live series had always been...lackluster. The commentary was the most eventful thing in those games. When 2K hit PS2 it was pretty much all over for Live.

I could never get into Live. I always preferred 2K when I played basketball games. Same with 2K and Madden. I remember Outrun said that Madden is like beer over someone else's house. They might not have your brew, but you'll drink it if that's all that's available. He also applied that to fighting games.

That is true. Back in the day some people had Live and others had 2K. Now most people have 2K and just have Madden because that's all there is. Hopefully that exclusive contract with NFL is up soon so we can get NFL 2K again.

It would be great if it did. Madden being the only ticket in town is pretty boring...and bad. Makes me wish Blitz the League was annual.

I thought that NBA Live 2014 would be able to catch up to the 2K series. I guess I was wrong. EA should fire the development team of their NBA Live games. It seems like they don't know how to return the series to its former glory.

I don't like NBA Live, 2k is far better, hell, the physics are better. It's the only basketball I'm decent at. Real life? I get schooled haha.

The only NBA Live game I've played is NBA Live 2000, and what is good about that game are the Legends from the 1950's to the 1990's. You can mix and match the legends in an All-Star lineup of your own, and even combine them with the current roster of players. You can even create your own players too, but I think that began when the Live series moved to the PS1.

The entire 2k series is more realistic and has better graphics. I also like the way they incorporate a NBA.com feel when you are playinginthe association mode. The 2k games are also more diverse in the stats they keep track of during a game. They record fastbreak points, points in the paint, second chance points, bench points, etc. Good stuff.

2K all the way.

I always liked adding legends to my roster. That was my favorite thing about Live 2000.
