NBA Street V2

I loved playing the NBA 2K games on my PS2. It is, I think the best NBA sim series ever. But once in a while, we need to get away from the norm and try something different. And try I did with NBA Street V2. It was a 3-on-3 basketball game that had you playing on the streets and doing outrageous basketball moves on the court. Doing 360 dunks, kicking the ball to pass, hook shot three pointers and dunking from the free throw line is the name of the game. It was so much fun and it served as a great diversion from the NBA 2K games.

I never really liked many basketball games or sport games, for that matter, except for NBA Jam, but I have to say I at least enjoyed watching my friends play this which is more than I can say for the other sport games. I think I gravitated towards this because it was close to NBA Jam and what made it good, and the fact that it's the type of game that encourages friendly trash talking.

I use to love playing this game with my friends when I was younger. Playing Streets V2, also entertained me and my friends. Now that I am older I would probably think the game was a bit cheesy, because it is not as good as I thought. I am a big fan of sports games, because of the competition aspect that comes with it.

Yeah, I suppose... I mean those games are OK but, as a sports fan, one of the biggest draws for me is the stats and the players. Putting myself in a fantasy season and making my own highlights is a huge part of the fun.

Again, maybe I'm showing my age in liking purity in a game but I just think those wild mutations of popular titles are just pathetic gimmicky money grabs.

Haha, well, it's still not as good as a full fledged NBA sim. But like I said, it was a nice diversion. It was just a game which just let you play, be silly, and just have some plain pure fun. It's also a great multiplayer game.
