Not sure if i made the right choice.

Hey everyone. I previously was an Xbox 360 owner. I switched over to ps4 and got it on day 1. I am happy with my ps4 and i haven't really experienced any problems with PlayStation or psn, but i got to thinking and i have kind of been second guessing my self on the choice i made. Im not sure if i should have bought an xbox one instead. Im kind of missing my xbox live friends and all of my real life friends who game either own a 360 or an xbox one. I also kind of miss xbox live as well. Im thinking about buying an xbox one as well as soon as i can afford it. i would just like some other opinions on this matter. especially from ppl who own both consoles. Do you think i made the right choice. any help would be greatly appreciate. thanks

It's hard to say since we're not you and don't really know you preferences. Maybe you should rethink about why you picked the PS4 in the first place and stick to that thought. I think as long as the games you're looking for are available then it should be alright. As for your friends, maybe they'll start to have second thoughts about the Xbox One too after seeing you enjoy the PS4. Stick for a while, you can always sell it off and get an Xbox in the future if you really feel that you made the wrong choice.

If you can afford it, and you have reasons, then I don't see why you shouldn't have both.

I can't afford to run 2 consoles, so this gen I'm moving to PS4, but if I could I'd have both.

I personally think the PS4 is a better bet ( for me, YMMV), but you will get to play the new Halo, GOW, and Fable when they arrive which are three games I really will be sad to miss out on.

I have both and enjoy them both. BUT my PS4 is my "main" system. Any game that is available on both I buy for my PS just because I like the controller better. The xbox one is great but very gimmicky with the Kinect which I shut off but still had to pay an extra $100 for, and all the jumble of icons etc on the main menu forcing you to use bing and watch commercials for movies etc when all you do is want to game. They force too much crap on you in the windows format in my opinion, my ps4 turns on and plays perfect games without all the garbage involved.

Why did you switch to Sony? There must have been things that Microsoft was doing that made you want to switch. As for your friends, well, if you're like me, my friends are fairly split between the consoles, so hopefully you still have people to play with. If not, make new friends ;) Worst comes to worst though and you decide that you made the wrong decision, you can still sell your PS4 for a decent amount as they are still very much in demand. Good luck deciding!

Ah. Sounds like an XBromance *snickers*

Did you sell your 360? What's stopping you from getting an XBOne down the road?

When both consoles were revealed, i was very unhappy with what Microsoft was originally doing with the Xbox one. When they reversed all of their policies i still stuck with ps4. I like the ps4 i wouldn't sell it to get Xbox one. i would rather buy both. As with the friends issue. Not many of my real friends are big into gaming but that is just because of where i live and because of the school i go to. (Very very small school.) One of my friends does own an Xbox one and he said it is great. i feel that any my friends that will switch to next gen eventually will go with Xbox because they owned a 360. Either way that is difficult for friends in that aspect. as far as online friends go, im having trouble finding ppl to find and game with on psn. Also at the end of my Xbox "career" i wasn't gaming with a lot of ppl either. more so buy myself. i guess im having trouble with that in generally. I'm am just getting bored i guess

Haven't sold my 360 yet but i plan on doing that this weekend. As of right now i just don't have enough money saved for it. i am hoping to be able to buy it around next Christmas at the latest

can you tell more about your decision of why the ps4 is your main system and if it is worth it to buy both. i am a big gamer so i generally buy A LOT of games so

Can't you just make new friends around the games that you play on the PS4? And since you are an early adopter, you can tell your real friends about the benefits of the system, and they may want to upgrade to the PS4 as well.

That's what I would do.

I'd just hold onto it if you miss playing with people on XBL. People are still playing on it so I don't see why its a big deal. Unless you are selling the 360 and the whole game collection to fund your gaming.

That and my XBL subscription is out and i only have gta 5 so it would kinda be waste a money. im just gonna sell it and get what i can from it

I'm confused. You are concerned about playing with your friends online. You have a 360, your subscription ran out and have only one game for it?

That was my reason to go with the PS4, also that there aren't any exclusive for the Xbox One that I really want other than Sunset Overdrive and that's mostly because of the hype. That being said, the real games aren't coming out yet and like you I am considering getting an Xbox One if that game turns out to be everything I want it to be. But it's not a priority for me right now. If you can afford it then get the console, if not then wait another year for the price drop.

Thanks for summarizing it, I was having a hard time following it myself, really.

I'd say keep your 360, pick up some games you haven't played yet, and hold on to it for a few months. You wouldn't get much if you sold it though a store (if you do sell it you could get more online) and you're going to be awaiting another month or two for anything to actually come in to play.

I think it would be best that you just hold on to your 360, Karma. Just because you buy a new console doesn't mean you have to sell your old one.

Also, it seems like you would've had other methods of contacting them outside of Live--messengers, FB, forums, etc.

You could try making friends with people on PS. Then once you get an XBone you'll have twice as many friends!

That's actually a good idea and a simple solution. Just do what you did to make friends on 360 on PS4. Actually, you could use the community section here and elsewhere and make new friends on PS4. We're a pretty friendly bunch for the most part lol

Staying on a same system of consecutive generations can get monotonous. Why don't you try PlayStation Now when it is released and play all the Sony legacy titles. That way, you will feel more at home.
