Hey guys. Check out this interview with Nvidia's VP of Content and Technology, Tony Tomasi.
He says it won't it will "no longer be possible for a console to be a better or more capable graphics platform than a PC" due to the amount of R and D dollars that Nvidia spends each year on graphics technology. He mentions that Nvidia spends nearly $1.5 billion each year.

Wow. That's a very staggering amount of money to be spent in development. Whew. But I remember the days when you need a very powerful PC to run PS2 emulators. But yeah, in terms of specs, I don't think that gaming consoles would surpass PCs in the future either.

This is very exciting. XD

But we still have to consider that gaming consoles are made just for games and there are certain features that are only present in gaming consoles and not on PCs. :)

That's pretty interesting, its cool to see how far PC's have come over the years. It's also good to know that my average computer is still better than a brand new console.

Well, it makes sense. Consoles have a fixed hardware, so you can upgrade it later, but on the PC you can adapt your budget to your liking and optimize your game to it, so it's pretty flexible.

The question is when would that time really be? Haha. Quite honestly, I am hoping that virtual reality could be integrated well enough in gaming that it would make you feel like you are inside the game that you are playing. Haha. Very futuristic but quite possible I must say. :)
