Nyko Dual Shock 4 Battery Pak

Oberon

, , The Enforcer, ,
If you want more playtime with your DS4 and dont wish to play while having it plugged in the PS4 with a long USB cable then this may be the solution for you.

Nyko's Battery Pak snaps on the DS4 and isnt supposed to hamper controller dynamics.

Details here:

ibtimes.co.uk said:
The battery pack from Nyko connects through the controller's micro USB port and goes on to double the standard battery capacity of your favorite console controller.

While it does add a lot of extra battery life, some of you might wonder if the addition of the pack will make your controller heavier. Nyko has addressed these concerns and has confirmed that it won't hamper controller dynamics. "It's lightweight and does not impede gameplay or ergonomics, enabling users to extend their gaming sessions," a Nyko rep promises.

Not only does the Power Pak add extra power while the controller is in use, but it also happens to be compatible with Nyko's Charge Base. For the uninitiated, the base is a dock that can hold and charge two PS4 controllers when they aren't in use.

I picked one of these up at my local gamestop today but it doesn't fit on the Ds4. It's like the pin is not located far enough out to snap in place. I'll be bringing this back in the am.

What! Really? I wonder if it was just a prob with the one you bought? Otherwise everyone would have to return there's,Im sure there would be thousands of people who must of bought these.
Perhaps ask the salesperson in store for a replacement and see if that works. Is that your intention or are wanting a refund instead?

Wouldn't the added battery make controller uncomfortable and heavy?
I dont think it adds any bonus, you can just buy a longer USB cord, makes more sense.

Even so how expensive is it? To be honest I don't see a massive problem with keeping your controller wired to the PS4 to let it charge... We have been doing that for years with past consoles so I don't think it is a big issue that people should be complaining about. I suppose having this 3rd party attachment will help people who do complain though.

It's 20 bucks not a bad price at all. I want to exchange it for a new one and see what happens. I'll bring my Ds4 with me and see how it goes. I watched some videos on youtube and it looks like it just snaps right on. Looking at the one I have it looks like the micro USB is to close to wall of the battery

The battery is very light weight. I don't see it being a problem at all I will update when I get a new one. Today.

Well I am back with an update. I took my Nyko battery pack back to gamestop to see if they could help me out. Well after five diffrent people tried to fit that stupid thing on my Ds4 with no luck. They decided to open a brand new controller and another Nyko battery pack to see if that worked. Well after all five employees tried again it still didn't work. They ended up trying the complete stock of them dam battery packs with no luck. They went online to do some research and found out there is a lot of people complaining about these Nyko battery packs being very hard to put on if they get it on at all. Some even broke there's trying to get it to snap in place. So I left with my money disappointed.

Wow.
Looks like Nyko need to redesign it ASAP and really do a recall or announcement and anyone who bought them should get their money back.Either at place of purchase or Nyko themselves if no other option.

I feel the same way. I went on youtube and there was a couple videos that people did and the battery pack snapped right in place. It's weird how hard this thing is to put on.
