Hi everyone.. new to the forum. Found my way here while researching the heck out of these headsets. My first attempt at headsets other than the cheap just for chat type. Anyways, just picked up the Afterglow KRAL at my local BB. However, after further research I discovered some things that have me wondering.
To my understanding, here's what I dug up...
**Afterglow KRAL ($99)**
-newer
-easier connectivity without wires, just usb dongle.
-only 2 modes: regular and bass boost
-only blue LED color
-no separate chat and game audio mixer
**Afterglow 5.1 Dolby Digital ($129)**
-3 modes: same as KRAL + immersive 5.1 (virtual?)
-prismatic LED color changing capable
-comes with stand that doubles as transmitter.. also glows.
-game/chat sound mixer
-lots of wires! To stand and from controller to cans, I think.
Does anyone know which is a better product? When I factor in buying a stand for my KRAL, the difference to buy the (older) 5.1 cans is miniscule. But to my understanding, I think the 5.1 requires an audio cable from the controller to cans, whereas the KRAL is completely wireless. But does the 5.1 Dolby sound make the 5.1 better? Also, the 5.1 seem more universal in terms of working across platforms. Love my ps4, but very slim but possible chance of also owning an xbone down the road.
Sorry for the long post.. just trying to wrap my head around this as to which is the better buy. Don't want to get older cans if connectivity sux.
Thanks!
