Persona 5 Teaser/Trailer

Alright, what does everyone think about the new teaser/trailer? Do you think we are potentially looking at the new MC (main character)? Or are we looking at a random character withing the universe? A possible acquaintance? At any rate it would appear as though he is a second year student. Might the game offer a more open-world feel? What are you looking forward to? What do you want?

Yes and no. While the games are essentially stand-alone titles, there are some overlaps. It is the fighting games (Persona 4 Area and Ultimax) that connect the universe of Persona 3 and Persona 4. While indeed the two occupy the same universe, playing 4 before 3 isn't going to spoil and or ruin the experience at all. So if you have yet to play 4 and want to play 5, I believe you will be OK. There is really no immediate rush... unless of course you just want to play a hell of a game.

If it is anything like 1, 2, 3, and 4 the answer is no. But not much has been said about 5.

Persona games (or Shin Megami Tensei in general) games are largely stand alone. A lot of the gameplay concepts will be similar for sure, but right now it looks like Persona 5 won't really be related to 4.

As for the trailer itself. Looks neat, doesn't reveal a whole lot though. The new protagonist(if thay is who that is) looks cool. I'm probably most excited for the fact that it looks like it could be in Tokyo instead of a rural town. That could give us a lot of interesting stuff to do...

How can you have a Persona avatar and not be hyped for a Persona game? Do you need to know anything to be hyped for Persona? It is... Persona. Have they ever done wrong? No, no they have not.

I have never played a Persona game either, but I am looking forward to it as the trailers they have released so far look really interesting. I am going to give it a shot.

How can you have a Persona avatar and not be hyped for a Persona game? Do you need to know anything to be hyped for Persona? It is... Persona. Have they ever done wrong? No, no they have not.

I guess the way I usually go about it is that I get hyped during reveal announcements but then I just lose the hype and don't get hyped up until a couple months before release, I go insane then.

I guess that, basically, I get hyped up when the games finally are close to being playable. You will probably see me hyped as hell a month or two before P5 releases.

Oh but I sure as hell am hyped up to play as Junpei in Ultimax!

I find it hard to get super hyped for stuff that is far off as well. Especially with games like Persona 5, it is just too far away..

I'm pretty hyped, as a big fan of Persona 3 and 4 and the whole Shin Megami Tensei series this looks pretty sweet.

Man, I must admit that trailer does nothing for me, it's the usual Persona promo that says and shows nothing about the game. I'm a huge fan of Persona though, and even if this trailer doesn't make me jump on the hype train I'm sure I will be when they start showing more info about it. There's a reason Persona is one of my favorite JRPGs, and it's not because it disappoints.

I know, right? Basically all we have is "it's coming!" which has been said for a long while now. I'll get hyped when there's more info and we're closer to the release date...
