Picking your next game?

Here is what may be an odd question, but does anybody here have a hard time picking out what game you'll play next?

For instance - I've just finished the campaign for Red Dead Redemption (again) and I was going to go straight onto the "Undead Nightmare" DLC campaign, but feel I would be a little burnt out from it because I hammered my way through RDR's campaign playing for many hours a day and don't want to burn out from my favourite game. So I think I'm going to start another game, but I'm having a hard time at the moment decided what to play. What mood am I in? Will I stick to the game if I start playing? Sometimes it will take a couple of days for me to pick my next game. Stupid, ain't it?

Does anybody ever get like this?

Yeah, it always happens. What Mudgee said also happens to me a lot.

Sometimes it's also combined with that "what the hell do I do with my life now!?" feeling you get after you beat a fantastic game.

This happens to me all the time. When I pick a game, I always check the reviews of friends and other people. If they say it's a good game, then i'm more inclined to get it. However, sometimes I like to live on the wild side and just get the game despite the reviews.

I intersected the Devil May Cry HD collection with the Ico & Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection, so i played one and jumped to the other, this way i kept it fresh.
Aside from that, it's a mood thing.

That happens with everything for most people, I think. I have started to read many books, and then just stop reading them at random, even if they're engaging. It's human nature. Also, it's harder to stick to one thing these days since we have hundreds of things to do on the internet, in addition to doing stuff like reading books, playing games on consoles, exercising, playing a sport, etc.

Sometimes I can't pick what game I want to play neither. I think the more games you have then it sometimes gets harder to choose, I know it sounds weird however I just have it that way. Then sometimes I just end up making it random by flipping a coin or something, that works out sometimes.

I get like this sometimes, I usually pick my next game off of something I am interested in at the moment. There are times when I want to play a game so bad, and then there are times when I don't want to play a game at all. I have some moments like that.

Sometimes I do find it a little more difficult to pick a game I want but usually it will be influenced by friends or experience I have had with a game. A lot of the time I find myself buying games that I know I will enjoy or that I think will be a load of fun when my buddies and I play it.

At times I want to play a sports game. At times, I want to bash heads in God of War. Sometimes, I'd like to play a fighting game. Sometimes I'd like to play an RPG. It's like choosing what food I want to eat. It really depends. There are a lot of factors - the current trends, my mood, etc. One thing is for sure though... Since the NBA season is here again, I'm gonna play a lot of NBA 2K13. But if I'm gonna get 2K14, that's what I'm mostly gonna play. Oh, the Pacquiao bout is also nearing. That's why I'm playing a lot of Fight Night too.

This always happen to me.
I bought a few fighting games only to stop playing them after 1 week. I hate it when I download a new MMO (15GB or more) and then get bored after a few days.

This is not usually a problem for me. I don't buy games all that often, and so I tend to research reviews and screenshots before going ahead and buying a game. I think this poses as more of a problem if I go to download a game, sometimes it can be hard to tell what it's going to be like, I've been dissapointed a couple of times in the past this way.

It's a mood thing, sometime I might see a let's play that looks interesting and watch a few till I decide to buy the game myself. Other times I might of read about the game or a friend recommended it. But I always do a good amount of research into a game before I buy. Nothing worse than buying a game and then hating it 10 minutes in. Not even for the wasted money, but just because you got so psyched up for it only for it to let you down.

I get this way sometimes. I have several saved games just dangling in the purgatory that is my game queue. I think it takes a very special game to make me want to play it from start to finish as close to one sitting as I possibly can, and probably the last time I experienced this was in the first Devil May Cry game which I finished twice in two days because I just couldn't put the controller down. Apart from that, I just casually progress in most other games interchangeably depending on what mood I'm in that day.
