Polygon Bias Busted

I think we all know by know that Polygon is a biased. They've been pretty clear that they are team Microsoft and that showed during their review of the PS4. Well in their stream reviewing the Xbox One the Editor in Chief said a couple of times that unlike the PS4, the Xbox One had supported remote controls. Which isn't true because the PS4 does support remote controls to.

Also enjoy the video of the Xbox One failing several times with the remote controls and Polygon justifying what looks like legitmate issues with the console. I'm not anti-Xbox One but really it's just Polygon that's the problem here.

Polygon vs PS4

Some sites are just like that. I would just stop going their as it isn't worth the hassle. They like what they like. Its their choice. Your always among friends here.

That's how it is with a lot of game websites. Some get a little bit of "Greasing" from either Sony or Microsoft, or other game companies to praise and glorify certain things. It's always going to be that way, so you can only really stop giving them the time of day as Frantic said and just let it go. If I remember correctly, someone even got fired because they gave an honest review of Kane and Lynch 2 which was an absolutely awful game, but doing so was a no-no in the mutual "Agreement" they had with the game's PR Team.

It's no different that some artists/labels giving radio stations payola to play their songs more and hype it a bit: there is sometimes a clear bias or they get a little scratch on the side. I used to think that Screw Attack had an Xbox bias for the longest. Now I just don't bother visiting the site. If you suspect a site of having a bias use your best judgment on if your should give them your time.

Every site on the Internet is not above bias. It's sad that a site like polygon would outright deny issues with the Xbox One just because they enjoy the Xbox more than the Playstation 4. I just try to avoid sites that are very biased.

I think this happens with every website. Every single one seems to have some sort of bias towards any of the big three. You just gotta find the ones with the same bias as you to be happy!

Listen to 'Ranger, 'Septagon, Frantic...but not SXB :D Just find a site that shares your interests in or against a particular console. They're not hard to find.

Well they like what they like. I won't accuse them of being on Microsoft's payroll but they are definitely XBox fanboys and we know how blind fanboys of anything can be.

All sites are biased, that's why I would put more weight on consumer reviews than ones from corporate sites. Consumer reviews, even if I know they are biased, I at least know that it's not due to any corporate politics or payment. Also, I never knew that remote control could work with these systems, I'll have to try that out.

Customer reviews are the way to go. There might be some fanboys who will either have dismissive spite, rage against, or are blindly loyal to a console, but at least they weren't paid off. The non-large gaming sites (well gaming blogs) are worth a look as well.

It's really unfortunate that a big name like Polygon is so blatant about their bias. Most big sites are usually able to hide it, but it happens more often than I would like. Kotaku has gotten so bad that I refuse to go to their site, I'm still pretty cool with IGN but I've started leaning more toward smaller gaming sites. They haven't been bought so any bias that their writers may have are more genuine and individual.

I'm convinced Polygon does this mostly for linkbait. They probably love the traffic and backlinks that their controversial reviews get them.

So right! I only go to sites that I enjoy reading and listening to. I avoid any that are extremely bias and not my taste. It's just like the news some favor republicans and some democrats so you pick the one you want to watch.
