Popular PS / PS2 Games You Have Never Played

I'm sure we all know what games were popular and always talked about during those era. But somehow we never played some games among them. Games that if people found out you never played they would be like "Wow you missed a lot." What are yours?

I think mine would be, all Final Fantasy (Except 9 and 12), Kingdom Hearts, Star Ocean, Tenchu (Except Wrath of Heaven), Silent Hill, Chrono Cross, Castlevania, and both Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revolution.

I have never played a Star Ocean game. Ever. I was so focused on playing other famous RPGs like Final Fantasy that I completely forgot about it. I also haven't played Kagero for the PS 1. I also haven't played any Tomb Raider games on the original PlayStation. It just didn't appeal to me at the time. Also, I wasn't able to play Pa Rappa the Rapper though I was able to grab a copy of its sequel, Um Jammer Lammy.

I've only played like one Metal Gear Solid game, which is a shame. I keep wanting to get the collection for the PS3, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I wasn't really into those kinds of games when I had my PS2, but it's something that's been on my list for quite some time. I've also only briefly played the God of War games, and only the first two at that.

I'm guilty of missing out on a lot of classics - Sly Cooper, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy (all of them), Jak and Daxter, the list goes on!

I've missed out on a couple of classics. From the PS1, I've missed out on Final Fantasy VIII and IX. I've heard so much about those games that I pretty much know everything about them without even having played them for a second. Then when it comes to the PS2, I've missed out on the first Devil May Cry game. I didn't get into the series until 3 and unfortunately I never went back and played the first 2. I may go and pick up the HD collection someday.

What? ? ? You missed all of the Final Fantasy games? Isn't that a major crime for a gamer? You should try out at least one of them. Maybe Final Fantasy XIII or for a more retro feel, try out FFVIII.

I think the Final Fantasy games are must-plays for just about everyone. Kingdom Hearts is up there, but I can see how some people wouldn't enjoy them as much as they might Final Fantasy games. I haven't played Sly Cooper, myself, so I can't really comment on that with any validity.

I know! Does playing about an hour of FFXIII count? Because that's all of my experience with Final Fantasy.

Here's a question for you (or anybody) - If you had to choose a Final Fantasy game for someone new to the series to play (introduction to the series), which would you choose?

Funny, I actually about a hour ago hired out Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. Trying to play some of the Playstation "classics"

I've only ever played FFVIII and Crisis Core on PSP, and both are very enjoyable. If I had to pick just one for a better introduction, I'd put my vote on Crisis Core since it seems a little bit more mainstream, generally speaking.

I know FFVII is more highly regarded, but I prefer it when the characters are proportionately accurate.

As for games I haven't played:

Crash Bandicoot
Gran Tourismo
GTA San Andreas
Syphon Filter
Any Tomb Raider game after 2
Silent Hill
DmC
Vigilante

I just never really wanted to play some of these games, though.

Ah unfortunately I don't have a PSP so wouldn't be able to give Crisis Core a go :(

And you've never played San Andreas??!!

Haha, I've read a few comments of yours saying how much you like that game so I'm not surprised at your shock, but yeah, I guess I just never really took to it. Something about the massive map and having too many things to do makes it more uninteresting to me, ironically. I have tried playing it for a few hours, though, but when it came to this game I preferred just watching my friend go through all the requirements and obstacles instead.

As for Crisis Core, I think I've seen a few videos online where people played it on their PS3's so it might be available for download. :) If not, I think it's available for the Vita as well.

Ah I also don't have a Vita. But I shall look it up and see if it's playable on the PS3 and report back :)

EDIT: Well looks like unless you have a PSP or Vita, you can't play PSP games on your Playstation 3.

When I got my PS3 I wanted to work through the signature games. That pretty much includes any game that features the characters from PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, which I still want to play. I've played Twisted Metal (though the most recent was TM Black), Uncharted, BioShock (which isn't an exclusive, but still), God of War (briefly), LittleBigPlanet, Jak and Daxter, and Ratchet and Clank. I very briefly played one of the Devil May Cry games, as well, but I was absolutely terrible at it so I ended up returning it. So many games I need to play...
