Potential team up - Sony+Oculus Rift?

The head of Sony, Shuhei Yoshida has announced that they tested some Oculus Rift development kits and enjoyed it. The video in the article shows an exclusive concept of what the Oculus Rift would look like if Sony actually goes through with this. I wonder if Microsoft has a chance of integrating Oculus Rift if Sony and Oculus Rift decides to team up.

PlayStation has said publicly that it has Oculus Rift dev kits in the office and Shuhei Yoshida, Sony Computer Entertainment head of Worldwide Studios, admitted that he liked it. What if Sony teamed with Oculus?

That would be so cool. It would add another dimension to gaming for the PS 4. It would also help boost the sales of both the PS 4 and the Oculus Rift. I definitely feel that that OR is a definite plus for consoles and it's good for Sony to take notice. Some more plus points for the gaming giant.

Heard about this recently, if this comes to be true, ten this could mean great things for the PS4 and it's future. Oculus Rift looks like it could bring some new promising technology to light. I think all it will take is for someone to really tap into the technology and really see just what Ocukus Fuft can do. Look forward to hearing more about this.

I think that could be a pretty cool team-up. From what I've seen of the Rift it looks like it could be a really cool tool for games, I'd love to see some bigger names getting in on that action and adding the option to use it for some of them.
Although I've seen some things that I think might not be quite what I'm looking for, hopefully it doesn't head too far down that road.

Sounds interesting and I think it would definitely attract more people to get the PS4 over the Xbox One, but at the moment this is just speculation so I wouldn't get too excited yet. It could potentially create some confusion though; would they make titles to work for both users with and without the Oculus Rift? Or would they make separate games, and if they did make separate games then how much would it affect the people that don't care for virtual reality stuff? This could potentially get very messy and very quickly so I think that Sony will definitely take their time to think this through first.

I heard about this, Yoshida seems a bit too eager or it to not happen. Especially since the PS4 is a more open console, so it may be easier to develop stuff for. Will be interesting to see if it succeeds or if it's 3D TV all over again

The Oculus Rift is such a great invention. If Sony and Oculus Rift team is together, it will be epic!

Personally, I have the impression that the Oculus Rift is the invention of tomorrow. I hope that will not damage your eyes are. Then the product must be finalized well before putting it on the market.

Imagine this invention, with the PS Move! Epic!

Speaking of which, I'm confused as to how this will work with games that aren't first Person. I dunno how it'd work in other games, and I don't want every game to be First Person. Not that every game would use the Rift, but still, any non First Person games use it yet?

I've never favored virtual reality all that much to be honest. It feels like too much of an effort to have to move your head when all you want to do is relax and focus on something fun for a while. I'm already having enough trouble as it is with the integration of touchpad controls, so I personally would feel like it's just too much of an added unnecessary gimmick. Furthermore, I think this is a step back, as the Kinect, both new and old, can do so much already and with that you won't need to strap a big machine to your head. If anything, they should have just started there, in my opinion.

Killzone + Oculus Rift = EPIC!!!
also other games, though I would love to see Oculus Rift + PS4 Camera working together.
like everyone seen the Playroom and how you can hit the robots and all, with your hands.
i can see this working in other games in the future and you add Oculus Rift to this and you have something Legendary!!!!

It'll be interesting to see the potential of the Occulus Rift on consoles, especially next-gen ones. Who wouldn't want to play something like Call of Duty or Killzone with the Occulus Rift?

Considering recent news about the Oculus Rift I really think any console that can get them on board is going to do very, very well. I personally want a team up between PS4 and Oculus Rift because I feel like Sony would allow a more equal partnership than MS would. The only other team up would be Nintendo... but they may still be having flashbacks to ... Virtual Boy.

Hmm, I think that Microsoft does not intend to have a partnership with the Oculus Rift because I think that they're heavy in the works with their own Virtual Reality device codenamed IllumiRoom. Sony should act fast and make a sign a deal with these guys. It would give them a huge advantage over the competition and open up a lot of gaming possibilities.

KillZone + Oculus Rift = Gaming heaven.

Carry lindbergh you don't want to end up like .Hack or S.A.O. do you? Just kidding... I'm pretty sure only Microsoft would be all over that. Just all over that.

The prospect is very interesting, PS4 with occulus support would be amazing. If it was an optional add-on, as simple to use for any game as it is on the PC -- this would be a powerful move on sony's end. If however it would require much developer involvement to make sure that software supports it, i don't see it happening.
