Powered Down - still get a download?

Not sure if this happened to anyone else.. (I am not complaining, just searching for others who noticed this)..

Last night when I went to bed, I shut down the PS4. Not Sleep Mode... turned it off. I always do - always worried about power spikes or over use.

In any case.. I get home today and notice the white bar on the PS4 is yellow.. I fire it up.. It had started up and downloaded an updated for CoD: Ghosts at 4:30am this morning.



Anyone else experience the PS4 starting on its own to do downloads? And not from Sleep Mode but from an actual shutdown?

Just thought it was odd.

I think their is a setting for this isn't their? i haven't personally experienced this myself.

Hmm I haven't seen one. I should look.

Figured if the unit is actually off though that it wouldn't restart until I told it to

In a perfect world, i looked for the setting and can't seem to find it. I'll keep looking.

I just thought it was weird that it started up and downloaded after being actually turned off.

It's probably the autoupdate feature working as advertised. If the console was still plugged in, chances are you didn't completely turn it off "for real", and some part of the console was still active so it can run updates and do menial tasks while you're sleeping in order to save time. There's probably a setting to disable it, or you can just plug it out if you don't want it to use electricity.
