preorder download question

So, I started to buy the preorder for TLOU for PS4 on the PS store, and it says the download will be available on Dec. 31, 2014...isn't the game releasing this month? I'm guessing it's just a typo, but thought I'd check since this would be the first purchase I've done on the PS store.

Yeah most likely a typo. Or it's just a placeholder date. I wouldn't worry though, I am certain it will be available to download as soon as it hits July 30!

It's a placeholder from Sony. They haven't updated the store yet. It releases July 29th in NA and July 30th in EU.

Sorry you are all incorrect..PSN digital download of that game WILL be Dec 31st while physical disc buyers will be July 30.
They do this cause not only do they like ripping people off from buying new releases in digital format from the PSN store they also wanna make you wait longer :grin

Wait what really?! That is ridiculous. They aren't trying to make digital sales any more enticing are they? Digital games need to be cheaper and certainly come out at the same time as the boxed version..

Not him, but somehow I managed to miss it until he quoted you, and then I caught the small text.

I could have sworn it wasn't there originally, but of course when I looked again, there it was. I'd assume that he had the same issue as me

btw my comment there was obviously made in reference to my dislike of digital downloads at rip off prices.
