Problem deleting game in order to start over from scratch!

I cannot seem to delete the game Destiny from my system so I can start over from scratch. Because of some glitch I am not able to proceed any farther in the game so I need to remove all traces of the game from my system. I deleted the game only to have it reinstall just as it was when I deleted it. The game does not show in the saved data file like my other games so I am at a loss as to what to do. The game is worthless if I cannot reset the game back to zero to start over. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Sompopo,

are you sure that your save datas are located in your console and not in the Destiny server?

I don't know this game much, but with GTA Online, which is also a massive multiplayer game, my save datas are not on my PS4, but they are automatically saved in the Rockstar server (GTA's owner). If I want to restart it from scratch, I need to create a new character and/or delete the previous one. I do this from the game's menu, because such datas are not on my PS4.

So, there should be an option inside the Destiny game menu which allows you to erase the current user datas. :)

All Destiny game data is saved on Destiny servers. You can not delete it from the console. To delete your progress, you need to delete your character on the selection screen.

Out of curiosity, what is the glitch?

Glitch may have been the wrong word. After I finished the first mission which is to find the ship I was taken to the tower. After going back into orbit to continue to the next mission (which is to find the warp drive) the option (highlighted Icon on the map) was not there to click on. I was not able to continue the game so I wanted to start over. I have reset the console to factory and if I understand right, if I reinstall the game the previous data comes back with it??? If that is the case then the game is worthless to me. Why would you not be able to restart the game or redo a mission? That is stupid as hell. Oh well live and learn.

this games data never appeared where all my other games data is. As for changing the character that only changed the character, the game data remained the same. Information is so hard to find on these games. I would have never known about games saving data on outside servers until you told me. Now that I know I will steer clear of games that do so.

Yeah. A lot of games are saving your data to the servers now-a-days as opposed to the console. Multiplayer games at least. I blame CoD :)

This is how all MMO style games work. Heck, even COD saves your MP profile online, and always has.

On the screen where you select your character, hold square to delete it instead. Then start a new character. That's all you have to do.

Also, if you are not getting the next mission, you probably have a step in the tower that you skipped. Look at your quest screen and see if there is something you need to do. Talk to the speaker, see the shipwright, talk to the vanguard, talk to the gunsmith, etc.
