Problem playing 'The Last of Us'

Hey, I've got one of the original 60gb fat PS3s and sometimes I have trouble running 'The Last of Us.' If I play for an extensive time the console will just shut itself off. There doesn't seem to be any problem with it, every other game plays fine and after a short break I start playing again. I'm guessing that the game is just running the console too hard, what with the console being from the beginning of the generation and the game being from effectively the end. I just want to make sure it isn't a serious problem before I get too far. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Your console is quite old and the last of us was a game that really pushed the PS3 to its maximum limits so after quite sometime playing it'll get 'tired' and go off. I wouldn't worry about it. Perhaps short breaks where you give your console a rest for 15 minutes is a good idea.

So like maybe every hour switch your console off and give it 15 minutes and then go back on.

It's probably a hardware problem, that being said, it's from your Playstation. Sony is usually pretty cool when your console stops working properly, so try to contact them.

This is true, I've had a lot of good dealings with sony, one time my old fat PS3 just stopped work (laser) and it was out of warranty and they offered to repair it for free. Other times I've been able to trade my PS3 for another PS3 from Sony so they've never disappointed me.
