PS1 or PSX?

AFAIK PSX was used as a working name for the Playstaion 1 before it was actually released and many people just use that term still.

The truth however of the name PSX is that it was actually a diff machine entirely later,it was a digital video recorder and PS2 console in one.Released in Dec 2003 but was never released outside of Japan.

But yeah, when people refer to 'PSX' we can be sure they mean the Playstation 1.

I think that the playstation 1 would be the white one. Smaller one. While PSX is the grey one and sort of rectangular in shape. :)

But aside from their form factor, I think that there is no difference at all. :)

Been calling it PSX since it first came out and like most people, do not care to amend myself. While verbally discussing the console I say "PS1" or "The original Playstation". However, when typing, I always use PSX.

I use PS1 and PSX interchangeably. I am not honestly sure of the origin of PSX, but I started seeing it a lot online. I guess I just picked it up that way. As far as I know, it is appropriate to use PSX to speak of the original Playstation.

I always say PS1, but it's funny how a lot of people i knew called it the PSX. I don't even know how that trend started out. Did the name just catch use and everyone just started using it wrong?
I would like to see a PSX, that thing looks pretty unique.
