PS3 lack of quality software?

Now that we are all aware that the PS4 will be released this year do you think there will be a drop off of decent titles being released for the PS3 over the remainder of the year.
Apart from Call of Duty and Battlefield being confirmed for PS3 it looks like the rest of the year looks bleak for good games being released.
What do you guys think?

Well there is still The Last of Us too but after that yeah, all the focus will be on Next gen games from here on in I reckon.

Well, i am waiting for Blazblue Chronophantasma, Killer is Dead, The Last of Us, Dinasty Warriors 8, Time and Eternity, Dragon's Crown, Lost Planet 3, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix, Grand Theft Auto 5, Hotline Miami, Spelunky, WatchDogs and Assassin's Creed 4, so i really don't know what you are talking about.

Looks like their main focus right now is towards the PS4, so I don't expect many quality games to come out for the PS3. If anything it will be the PS4 that has the good games. What I can tell for sure is that they will not be stopping the development of games for the PS3. Time will tell.

There will probably be a little more time left for the PS3 and its support from Sony. They have always been gracious to gamers with their consoles and games, and even left support for PS2 way past the PS3's release. I think developers won't be too quick to jump on to newer technology even if it's more powerful, given that these consoles are still a gamble until they prove it in sales, as opposed to PS3 which already has a built in audience, which I think makes it still very much favorable.

There's also some rumors that the Last Guardian would be released for the PS 3. This is one of my most anticipated games of all time. It's the spiritual successor to the Shadow of the Colossus. However, the release date is still up in the air and there is a possibility that it would be released for the PS 4 also.

I do not understand what you mean ....
I see that happen on PS3 games. Sometimes developers out games on PS3 as the Next-Gent is ready.

Of him by now, I expect Kingom Hearts 1 FFX/X-2, Lightning Retun's and GTA 5.
I'll have something to do while waiting for the PS4.

Plenty of software still coming, lots of AAA titles too. It's got a far better lineup for X360 and of course the Wii had a miserable lineup the last year.

Sometimes we run into these dry periods where there are very few good release and we are currently in one of them , the big season is after the summer holidays end in about September and it lasts well into January or February, so whilst there might not be any big hits coming out soon, there are some great AAA titles right down the road.

Well since the PS4 is going to be released soon, it's no surprise that we won't be seeing hardly any big games being released on the system, well at least when it comes to 1st party games. The system will still see the big 3rd party releases such as the annual EA sports games and also the annual Call Of Durt games.

There's more than enough PS3 games coming out that I don't even know if I'll get a PS4 this year.

Unless you're one of those guys who only buys linear "AAA" titles :/

There's plenty of life in the PS3 through the end of this year, easily. Heck, they still sell PS2s in many markets. For me, I know my next hotly anticipated title for the PS3 will be the Evil Within game. As a fan of survival horror, having the classic Resident Evil creator head this is right up my alley. Not to mention, a lot of popular AAA titles coming out will be cross platform between current and next-gen.
