PS3 Only 225$ at our country

Ok, since the release of the new "PS4" the price of the PS3 has lowered down a lot! The 500gb PS3 is just 225$ I couldn't believe that it went down like that and I haven't thought of buying a PS4. I am still saving money for the New PS4 I hope this will be a good buy.

Philippines dont use dollar do they? Isnt it peso's only?
If so what is the price in your native currency?

wow thats Uber cheap, I wish I was in the philippines right now, I'd buy a whole bunch and sell them back out here and go gang busters... maybe retire on my private Island... ok thats a stretch but I would make alot of money though, the price is still $400 USD over here...

I would say it's 10,000 PHP on our country. We use dollar too, but we only use it at grocery stores that are tax free.

I want to buy a PS3 so bad and that price is all the more convincing me but I just have a feeling that now the PS4 is out, I need the PS4. I always want that new console or game because I feel weird and useless playing an old version of it where it's playerbase left to play the new game.

It's an interesting fact that the gaming stations are so cheap in the Phillipines right now being that the cost to import should increase the price rather than decrease. Think about it for a minute...the PS4 is available in the US already and still the system that he's talking about is at $400. They don't have the PS4 yet, so there's no competition for the PS3 and yet it's almost half the price. I'm not sure I'm understanding how this might be. Any thoughts on the economics side of this discussion?

Are PS3's region locked? I'm not sure...
If not, it might be worth shipping over here, even with the shipping costs it would still be cheaper than getting a new 500Gb one here.

Well Blu-ray movies are region-locked. But as for PS3 games, they are not region locked and can be played on any PS3 console in the world.

In my coutry PS3 500gb + GTA V (or another game you can choose between five of them) cost around 250$. PS3 is crazy cheap now you'll better buy one before they disappear and become "vintage".

Wow sweet. I have yet to repair my broken old PS3, and I might buy ANOTHER one, repair my new one, and keep my newly bought one with broken parts. I love to fiddle around with things and repair stuff, so this will probably keep me entertained for a few hours.

Buy me one and sell me it on ebay :P

Wait, you want to buy a new one, and use that one to repair your old one?
Why not just play with your new one?
You could even buy the spare parts you need on eBay and have two functional PS3's! :)

I'm the same way as you. I love fixing broken electronics. Depending on the part in question, you could pick up parts on Amazon. I got a laser to fix my PS3 when it took a dump. 20 bucks, can't beat that. But there are websites that do sell console parts ranging from motherboards to power supplies to entire disk tray assemblies.

Here's a couple on a quick Google search. Prices seem high. I'm sure you can find cheaper on Amazon.

Wow, that is a solid deal! If I lived in your country I would for sure take advantage of that deal. Although I do have a PS4 now, I might consider getting the PS3 and then reselling it :)
