PS3 size?

Did the size of the PS3 size drive you crazy like it did me. I mean, the thing just takes up so much space. Thank god that it has a blu-ray player built in, which saved a little bit of space on my entertainment stand.

Did it bother you that the PS3 was so big or did you not mind at all?

The size didn't bother me at all. It's staying in one spot all the time, it's not like your hauling it back and forth everywhere. I have the perfect size compartment for my PS3, it fits snugly like a glove. The PS3 is not too heavy either. It's not too much of a hassle at all.

I do not like the size of the big one at all, but like GetFresh says it's not like it's moving all over the place. I do think it's ugly though! I now however have both my big one and a slim one so I moved the big one to my room where it's ugliness doesn't matter and put the slim out in the living room since it looks much nicer.

See the thing with me is that I do move my consoles around a lot. A lot of times, my friends want to play a certain console, so I will bring it with me when I visit. The Wii was extremely easy to move around and the 360 wasn't awful either. The PS3 was like carrying a George Foreman grill around though.

It wasn't a deal breaker, just an annoyance.

They make bags specifically designed for all the systems that are actually insanely nice and make moving them much simpler. A lot of their product is even designed so you can still play when it's in the bag.

Yeah, I prefer the slim ones by far. The fat ps3 is so heavy and takes more space than I have!

Wow just looked up G-paks. They look insanely nice. Wish I would have known about them earlier. I always just tried to shove everything into my backpack. Thanks for the tip!

It's something that was bothersome, but it didn't drive me crazy. I don't like how I have to compensate shelf space in my cabinet, making sure that it's also positioned in a way that it breathes properly (what with the heat it generates and the crappy factory fan).

Nah, size didn't matter to me, It's all about the Games! besides you can use it as a Bluray player so it saves you more space

I don't have a problem with the size but do think it's ugly. That being said I think the design is very smart. With the top being rounded nothing can be placed on top which is probably the 1 of the reasons for such a low failure rate.

Good point. I agree that it is a ugly design, but it kinda makes sense considering the rounded on top thing. I could never imagine setting anything on top of my consoles, but I'm sure there are those dumb people out there. Wonder if Sony had that in mind with the design or if it was just dumb luck.

Someone never played the original Xbox in here. In comparison to the original PS3, that thing is a laptop size. I swear that the person who designed the Xbox didn't thought you might want to move it or grabbing it. I am pretty sure the size alone was a anti-theft measure.

There is a slim version for it but the other versions ones size really didn't bother me.

It bothered me a lot. I already disliked the original PS3's appearance to begin with, and finding out about the size and furthermore the price just cemented my decision on waiting longer to buy one. And seeing as I feel pretty much the same way about the PS4 currently, except for the price, I'm beginning to sense a pattern that Sony and I just must have different design tastes.
