PS3 Updates takes so Long.

I don't know why sometimes it takes up to 30 to 40 minutes for the updates to finished.

I also have a 360 and I have noticed how slow and frequent updates, downloads and installs are on the PS3 compared to 360.

This is not my first time. Everything is set up correctly.

Yeah that's one of the downsides of the PS3, updates can take a loooong time depending. I know the first time I bought my PS3 and connected to PSN. I think that took over an hour! But I suppose it's worth it as most games run smoothly without a hitch.

I'll have to agree on that part about the downloads/updates taking a long time to complete. When I first got Heavy Rain, It took me about an hour or so to download the first patch and if I recall correctly, I didn't even bother letting it finish before just turning it off and returning it. Then again, I was also using wireless at the time so I don't know how different the connection speed would be if I were to use a land line Ethernet instead.

This can be annoying I agree. It's most annoying to me when I've just bought a new game and there are numerous software downloads before I can really even play the game. If it means that the game runs effortlessly though, and without bugs then it's all good by me.

Do something while updating, browse the computer, play some games on it, etc.
Many ways to pass time.

I don't know why they take so long. It could be a lot of things to be honest. Your internet speed, the server, or just simple a huge update.

Either way it can be annoying.
