An official list of PlayStation 4 error codes has been posted online, along with suggested ways of overcoming them.

While by no means comprehensive, Sony published the short list as a reference for the most "common errors" experienced on the new console.

Here's the full list:

CE-33179-3: Application is not found. Retry after the installation is completed. Installation of Add-Ons fails until the installation of application installation is complete.

CE-33991-5: Get the status of the non HTTP_GET_200 in Internet connection. Retry Internet Connection test.

CE-34788-0: This update file cannot be used. Connect a USB storage device that contains an update file for reinstallation for version 1.50 or later. Delete the Update file from the USB storage device, and replace it with the update for reinstallation found from this page.

CE-34878-0: Application has crashed. Restart the application in the content area.

NW-31484-0: DNS server not specified. Restart the PS4 system.

NW-31367-0: Could not open wireless device. Restart the PS4 system.

NW-31453-6: Delayed server response. Try Internet connection test at [Settings] > [Network] > [Test Internet Connection]. Check that the internet status is valid.

NW-31194-8: Connection was reset. Restart the PS4 system.

E-8200002E: The credit card information is not valid. Remove credit card from account, and then re-enter the credit card information. Refer to Add / Remove Billing Information.

This comes after Sony offered guidance for those who have encountered the PS4's 'blinking blue light' error state, which the firm said points to a number of possible faults including TV compatibility, issues with the PS4 power supply, a fault with the console's hard drive or 'other PS4 hardware'.

Fixes include upgrading the TV's firmware, disconnecting the PS4 power cord from the electrical outlet following a hard shutdown, and identifying any problems with the ports and cords including damage or wear.

It may be an idea that if any one has any other error codes that they've encountered/know of and the fix for them, to add it to this thread.

Keeps it all simple in one nice thread then ;)

With regards to the CE-34878-0 error, Sony have now provided a solution to this which will stop the save corruption error from recurring.

"If you are experiencing this ce-34878-0 error code, please close the application and then install the latest system software and game patch," a community coordinator wrote on the official PlayStation Forum.

"If the error occurs again, initialise the PS4 system after back-up of the save data and please also submit any crash reports after re-booting your console when the error occurs."

The issue, which reportedly began affecting consoles yesterday, causes game saves to stop loading or freezes them entirely.

My missus just had the error code CE-34878-0 while playing Lego Movie Videogame.
She got the error code a few times after restarting again but seems OK at the moment so I havent tried any solutions.
I dont fancy doing the 'initialize' option, but this deletes everything and so would take ages to redownload all the data Ive already downloaded.

I have read that deleting the game data (of the game that caused it),and deleting anything for it from the download notification list then rebooting into safe mode and selecting 'rebuild database' may also work.
So if worse comes to worse Ill try that first.

Ive read that error was supposed to have been fixed with FW update v1.52,so much for that.

edit: Forgot to add, there was just an update for this game released and while the error didnt happen before it seemed to happen after the update finished downloading, then I installed the update and at the moment it seems fine,as I said above.
