PS4 exclusive games and the PS4 a year later ...

So we're nearly a year down the line of the release of the PS4 and i was wondering, in that time what has been your highlights and lowlights of the PS4's first year.

I'd also like to know what has been your favourite PS4 EXCLUSIVE game.

Me..

Best PS4 exclusive game - Although Technically not exclusive it's certainly not on the XB1 - my PS4 exclusive game so far has been MOTOGP14. As racing games go i think they have NAILED it in graphics, gameplay, and content for the right price.

PS4 highlights for me -

Graphics of Killzone/Infamous Second Son.
From opening the box to playing, was as simple as plugging it all in! Awsome ( took me HOURS to figure out the XB1 ! )
Fun to watch the PS live feeds, to see how games play for real and some funny people out there as well :)

Lowlights

Disapointed in the lack of games purely for next gen which is compounded even more by the amount of HD remakes. I didn't buy next gen to play pretty versions of last gen games!
Features that were advertised that haven't happened or just rubbish ( ie getting friends to help with a game who don't have it and PS NOW prices )
Lack of a PS4 exclusive title to make me go WOW ( hopes currently rest on The Order or Uncharted 4 ) ( Re infamous and killzone i prefered the last versions of them more than the next gen versions good as they were )
The amount of games that got pushed back release dates or were released and just didn't work ! ( BF4 / Drive Club )
No sign of Kratos... i mean ANYWHERE on next gen :(

Overall im still a very happy PS4 user, just i wish they had a killer must play PS4 exclusive game, that wasn't a HD remake, to make my xbox buddies go wow and me feel warm and fuzzy about the console.

I have no complaints overall. I'm not going to be as detailed as you, but I know I've used the console every day since I got it and have been the happiest little guy. I know it has been a few generations since I could last say that about a consoles first year..

Well I first had my PS4 for about 5 months and then sold it (for a Xbox One) and then quickly realised what a mistake I had made and just recently purchased a PS4 again. But my time with the PS4 has been overall good.

As far as best PS4 exclusive, for me it would be for sure inFAMOUS: Second Son. Beautiful looking game and lots of fun (albeit short).

Also really like the "Live From/On Playstation" feature. I think that's real cool. Also the PS4 UI is fantastic and smooth.

Now for the lowlights: Delays. Delays. Delays. Also the HD Remakes were a little overboard, although I understand why they would as people new to Playstation would of never got the chance and now, they do. And as Cpt Blackadder said, all the features that they promised but are still absent. I also wish they were more frequent with their updates. Still waiting for a proper Youtube app and the ability to watch video files via USB.

Overall though, I'm a happy lil' Haze :)

Wait....for most of this year....you owned an Xbox One?

Anyway moving swiftly on before I have a heart attack....

I have no real complaints so far other than the lack of games made for PS4 and the features we were promised but didn't feel the need to make an appearance. I'm around 80% happy with the PS4 but I will admit I'm a little down in a few places.

I quite like the PS4, but I'm dissapointed with lack of exclusives and AAA next gen games.
Also all the cool games which I'm waiting for are getting delayed, which is also irritating.

So i got a PS mag today as there was a lead article about the next best 30 PS exclusives coming ONLY to PS next year.

First page was awsome Uncharted 4 :)

but after that...

Best most notable ones are

Driveclub ( fail )
Bloodbourne
The Order
LBP3

and then there's a load of indie games like RIME which could be good bad /

After that it's HD remakes !!!

Journey
Ratchet and Clank...

is this it ?!?!?!?

SERIOUSLY is THIS IT ???

I GOT A PS4 and a year down the line i'm feeling frustrated at the lack of exclusives PS side especially compared to the wonderful list MS have currently and coming soon!

What's this " this is for the players " bollox ?? There's next to nothing for the players!

Someone tell me there's got to be more coming out to PS as exlusives in the next year surely ??

What about Kratos
What about what the second team at ND are doing ?

i'm SOOOOOO disapointed to hear that Quantic Dream are doing an HD remake of Beyond rather than a new game !?!?!

WTF is going on ? Where's all the games for PS only owners ??????

Well Unchared, The Order and LBP3 sounds cool but I do agree, it does seem largely underwhelming.

Word is there will be more exclusives revealed at the December event as well..

I'm fine with the few exclusives there have been. Regardless of which console I had I'd be playing Destiny right now. I'm more than happy to play games that aren't exclusives.

which december event is that ridge ? Lets face it the above list is for the WHOLE of next year.. just 4 exclusive games worth mentioning so far. I would put down here the list of exclsuive MS games coming to compare but i fear it would depress some of you even more. Their list of exclusives is mighty impressive, let alone the indie titles they have coming too.

Derri has hit the nail on the head.. underwhelming at the moment from SONY. Great as the console is ( PS4 ) it ain't worth salt if they don't give us games to make our MS buddies jealous of. I have my fingers in both pies, but i can't sell a PS4 to any of my MS buddies simply because they say what can i play on that i can't on the XB and i get stuck there. I HAVE managed to get a couple of PS owners to buy Xb's though cos of games like Titanfall and Forza Horizon 2.

I'm a member of another forum (not Playstation related – or any console for that matter) and one of the members recently referred to the PS4 as the 'Delaystation'. Like myself, he's had the previous three generations. I'm beginning to think he has a point, actually. There remains very few true, exclusive 'next gen' games for it – yet alone exclusive to Sony. Whilst I can understand some delays and limited availability from the offset, after almost a year on the market this is starting to become slightly concerning.

Others may disagree with me on this but I think it all boils down to the PS4 being released perhaps a year (maybe even eighteen months even) too early. I don't think the actual console was rushed to the market as such, but it’s become very clear to me that the general software for it wasn't anywhere near as ready. I don't think many PS4 owners would be too upset if it was only launched now with the new games that haven't long gone onto the market. It's an acceptable 'initial launch' line up in my opinion. I think Sony just wanted it on the market at the same time as the Xbox One to try and maintain their market rather than soldiering on with the PS3 until the new console really was truly ready…

Driveclub was delayed hugely and with ongoing problems online-wise (which doesn't bother me, but would for most I suspect) despite all the initial delay, is only going to damage it's reputation and sales. It promised so much, got delayed for what…10/11 months, and whilst it turns out to be a decent racing simulator, it’s not exactly mindblowing or groundbreaking. It seems that it’s missing 20% of content/features that it could have had from what I've seen. It just doesn't seem like a finished product.

None of this sways my decision on wishing to buy a PS4 at all. That's still very much 'on the cards' for just after Christmas / January. I can’t deny that these issues disappoint me though. I really don't want this to come across as 'smug', but this only galvanises my own view that I've done the right thing in simply sticking with my PS3 and waiting (…and waiting some more). Truthfully, I really don't feel as though I've missed out on anything so far. It's only been over the last few weeks or so that there’s now games out there for it that I really do have strong desires to want to play and own myself.
