I actually think both consoles have great exclusives. But if I were to choose one, I'd always go for the PS4, since it has a partnership with Naughty Dog and other great companies that release pure epic games.

I'm still convinced that Sony was going to go full DRM on us just like Microsoft, until they saw the reaction that the Microsoft press conference at E3 got when they announced their DRM, so they quickly changed track in one day.As much as I admire Sony's choice of going down a different path than Microsoft concerning DRM and other issues, showing that they really support the gaming community, I found their conference really lackluster in terms of (exclusive) games. FFXV and Kingdom Hearts will be available for XBOX too, meaning there's not much left except for Killzone (and I'm a die hard Halo fan). So even though the XBOX is more expensive, and Microsoft's policies are quite unnerving, I'm torn. Because Microsoft really blew me away with their games
Sony actually has genuine 1st party developers in house whereas MS pay devs for exclusivity!
Check out Metacritic guys (I can't post a link as am such a n00b!) PS4 has 24 games rated at 75% or better vs XBones 12 and a lot of these are indie game exclusives.
PS4 wins easily!

When was PSN free? I don't remember that.I'm not so sure I mean Sony doesn't nickel and dime everyone quite as mercilessly ad Microsoft.
We had free psn, free Web browser and could run Linux in the past, and free apps.
Microsoft has always charged for everything and even tried BBC iplayer Lol.
When was PSN free? I don't remember that.
And don't forget, Sony got very upset about the fact you could run Linux on their consoles and started suing left right and center anyone who dared to try and bring that functionality back. That's not being very kind;trying to take away one of the selling points of the system just because they no longer like you being allowed to use it.

Yeah PSN always free not PS+.
I was most hurt by Sony forcing removal of Linux as it meant I couldn't play GT5 as had to update my system. Back in those days my PC was broken and my PS3 was my gaming machine, multimedia centre and PC for paying bills etc.
It was the idiot who put a Youtube video of him playing copied games on the PS3 and the homebrew scene that upset Sony. As always a few spoil it for the majority.
I get the feeling MS are in trouble this gen as look at Forza, it should have been a system seller but it's generally a bit bland and I saw these comments on Metacritic which make me think its a rushed game "400 less cars than forza 4 and 23 less tracks and no more drag, drift or game modes. FORZA FANS DONT BUY THIS GAME"
Driveclub is the one I'm waiting for my next gen racing fix as Need For Speed is entertaining but not quite what I'm looking for.
Let's face it. Sony knew from day one that people were going to crack their system. And the problem was that they were selling so many consoles because people wanted them for the Linux support, and the Linux support alone. So since they lost money on every PS3 sold, they were counting on you buying all those games to make up for it. But since so many people were buying it just for Linux, they lost a ton of money.
I think that is a bit of a myth as you could build a much better Linux box for £300 than spend £499 on a PS3 so why would you buy a PS3 just for Linux?
Linux definitely appealed to those of us without a PC as we could run Open Office and do some word processing, download music etc on our PS3's.
Sony lost so much money as the spec for the 60GB PS3 was incredible when released with so many features I think it was costing Sony nearly £700+ to build at one point.
It's not the gaming division that hurt Sony it's their PC and TV business that are failing badly due to the levels of competition.

Buy both, and then you never have to worry about which has the better exclusives!
Not to jump in one someone else's debate, but it certainly isn't a myth. A lot of people were buying up the PS3 just for Linux. Look around and you'll find a ton of testimonies to this effect. The US army even bought up a few thousand to use as a super computer running Linux. I mean...yeah they're not that smart sometimes, but I'm pretty sure they'd know whether it's best to buy a PS3 or just build their own.
Obviously Xbone has won now with the announcement of Soda Drinker Pro. Look it up, can't link since I'm on my phone. PS4 has lost the war.
First of all- your are spot on by saying to get both!
Also, I would like to see some sources on that US Army Linux PS3 supercomputer info.
I would assume that the people who bought them because of Linux were on the fence or planning to get one later anyways but ive been wrong once before so who knows.
NM - I was very curious and looked it up. It was an Airforce project. It was only a viable solution for supercomputers and business sector servers. For a personal Linux setup it still would have been extremely expensive. So they definitely sold more because of it, just not single units to Joe Shmo.
