PS4 Mad Max

My only curiosity with PS's Mad Max is this, there's umpteen thousand "rain catchers" scattered throughout the wastelands in which Max can refill his canteen. My question is this, It Never rains during the game so how do the catchers get refilled???

Max uses to eat worms taken from corpses and canned meat of unknown age (it could be there also before a nuke explosion).
