Signed up, but don't really understand the benefit of belonging to PS4 Plus. I've checked several times for free, new, etc. games through the program, but frankly, all I've seen are games for children. Please explain.

PSN Plus has a reason if you want to play your games in multiplayer mode. Otherwise it has no sense.

For me it is just for the online multiplayer, though I do not play a whole lot of it. Nice to have for the times I do though for GTA V and Battlefront. Never saw a free game that I wanted to install.

Well... that was a good game, it's true. With the X360 wasn't better anyway: I have had it for a couple of years and the only game that worthed to download was Hitman.

You guys apparently don't visit the PS Store on your PS3. The selection of free games is (at least was) great with PS+. I got the whole Hitman series for free, Jurassic Park (the Tell Tale game) and a whole slew of PS1 games. I got other PS3 games too but don't remember them off the top of my head

Yes,PS3 there have been good games for sure with PS+,but since this is posted in PS4 section we can presume the OP was ofcourse talking about PS+ on PS4

I would have sold it a while back it but I got a crap load of songs on it for GH and RB and I cant bring myself to delete it all and sell the system.

I am the same. I have a PS3 but never use it. Been well over a year since it was turned on and I think even then it was to try out a 3D movie. It is amazing the difference in quality between the PS3 and PS4. So much smoother and detailed, the PS3 while good in its time now looks and feels antiquated.

Yep,its always when you go back to a less powerful thing (cars,motorcycles,mobile phones,PC's and consoles etc) you notice it the most.

I dunno guys. My PS3 gets turned on a lot. Sometimes to play games but I still use it as a blu-ray player and for Netflix. I'm playing the three Uncharteds right now on my PS3. I'm still impressed with the graphics. It's fun to go back to the old stuff to appreciate the new stuff.

I recently paired up a DS4 to my PS3. A comfortable controller has given the console a new lease on life. Now as far a PS plus goes for me anyways is a must. I buy all ma games digital and it saves me tons. The PS+ free games are horrible though on the PS4. I didn't buy a $400.00 console to play 50¢ games I can play on the ipad or android. I have noticed that the PS3 selection is going down as well but the system isn't getting much love anymore. So if you are not buying digital and don't enjoy online then I don't see any reason for it.

Very true. I went in the PS Store on my PS3 and it was not as good as it was. But remember too, the PS4 is still fairly new. The games that came out so far for it are not worthless to the point of giving them away for free. On the PS3, people aren't running to GameStop to buy them so why not give them away for free. May lead to residual DLC purchases on a game they otherwise wouldn't have made money on today.

If you own a Vita and/or a PS3, then you're getting awesome value. Especially if you own all three consoles. With PS4 only, it's still worth it, but PS plus isn't as good as it was with the PS3. The free games have been pretty "meh" in my opinion, and usually they're indies.
The PS Vita and PS3 usually get really good games though. Also, the deals you get are really good sometimes too. I would say that if you buy quite a lot of games like myself then you'll save more money than you're spending. Also, buying for 6 months or a year is a lot cheaper than paying monthly. I will say that (although I'm not a fan of it) the XB1 has been having some really good free games, but I think the sales on PSN have been a lot better.

I have owned a PS4 for around a year and a half and in that time have never had even the slightest urge to purchase PS plus. On the other hand on my Xbox One I would not do without my Xbox live. Most months one of the games is something I want to play or obtain for free. I mean they had Tomb Raider the definitive edition one month!!! and this coming month april they are giving Sunset Overdrive a triple A exclusive title and A wolf amoung us and of course each month the xbox 360 free titles also become backwards compatible for the XB1 so this month I also get Dead Space (I mean come on f ing dead space!!!!) and saints row 4 to play on my next gen console. So i think i will stick with my one subscription for my two consoles for now.
