Ps4 / ps3 online friends

Was on the phone to my mate before and he said " how come you ain't signed in for months. Aren't you using your ps4"
I said I'm on now.

He was online on his ps3 playing FIFA which I could see
I was on Killzone on my ps4
He said on my name it had me as not signed in?
Anyone know why?

Well technically you're both on PSN but some damn reason we can only send messages to ps4 friends from ps3 and visa versa. We get the message "Sent from device other than playstation 3 system". It sucks because I'd love to see what my ps4 buds are playing. Though on COD: Ghosts, you can see who's on PS4 and even what game mode they're playing. You can't play together but at least it's something.

Yep,on PS4 you can see your PS3 friends online,but PS3 cant see their PS4 signed in friends,you can however send messages back and forth.Also with the new PSN app.
They need to patch that on the PS3 end Im sure.

Its a known bug as my friend said he could see me and I could see him. Ever since launch people have been having a lot of bugs with the friends list.
