PS4 release date to be announced at Gamescon (August 20th)

What's the rumor I'm hearing that the PS4 will launch weeks after the Xbox One is released? Is there some truth to this rumor? Will Sony make their same move that they did with the PS3 before? I think that Sony will be at a disadvantage if they decide to launch weeks after the Xbox One is out.

Yeah I've heard this too at a couple of sites. I really hope it's not true. Sony need/deserve to release their console before Xbox One. Then again, Sony loyalists will no doubt wait with some sort of patience. Me included.

There is no way that the Xbox One can be released before the PS4 at this point. In order for the changes to be made to the One, they have to basically push it back into a development cycle and rebuild a couple of the UI type structures. They'll probably deliver the One at the end of December or in 2014 for all we know. This cycle is going to go to the PS 4 right off the bat.

I doubt it. I'm pretty sure they'll try to release it in November itself.

Releasing it that late wouldn't bode well for Xbox, especially since most people are on Sony bandwagon right now anyways.
