PS4 Sales Are Apparently Awesome

I read recently that PS4 sales have exceeded far beyond what Sony anticipated and they do not have a clue as to why.

I could give them a couple reasons with the first one being that people are pretty sick and tired of cheap graphics and sloppy one dimensional games. The PS4 has the capability and power to change that and I would bet you that all those buyers have the PS4 hooked up to big screen HD TV's and they are waiting to be wowed. Sony better wow them or they just might loose a whole generation of gamers.

In many regions PS4 hasn't had any competition when it comes to next gen machines, so the choice was obvious and the demand huge.

Exactly as you said I think that the console is doing so well because it really does not have any competition in certain regions which makes it a lot easier for sony to get lots and lots of sales. Also though when I look at all the nex gen consoles I have to say that I think that the PS4 is the best one on the market that I have seen so far.

PS4 is still faaar ahead of Xbox One. Xbox One has done better lately since their price drop though. But PS4 is still far ahead. It's by a pretty considerable margin.

The Playstation brand pretty much owns the Asia market. Almost all the people I know is a fan of PS. The PS brand is just more well known due to it being a long time brand. What's more, the PS4 is a very good console.

Here in the Philippines, most console gamers are Sony fans, so it's no surprise why the PS4 is preferred over the XBox One. China favors the XBox One not because of their loyalty to Microsoft but because of politics as they will never support a Japanese product like Sony.

True that but it hasn't been selling like hot cakes in Japan recently. I don't know if it is because of low stock but I think the lack of Japanese catered games means the PS4 isn't a must own yet for Japs. Might all changea at TGS though.

Japanese people also prefer Nintendo rather than PlayStation. They love their DSes and Wiis. The only PS console that sold well in Japan was the PS2. But what you said is also true. There's also a lot of Western targeted games for the PS4. The Wii and Wii U has a lot of games that are targeted for the East.

Yup, they are the best selling consoles in almost every major market, even on the Xbox's home turf, the USA

Yeah Nintendo is very popular over there but I do know the PS3 outsold it's competitors many a time during it's peak. I don't know for sure if Nintendo's really outsold the PS brand completely though. As soon as the jap games are released the PS4 will shove more units regardless.
