Hi guys, I'm planning to buy a PS4 Slim. We own a 50' 4K TV, my question is will the PS4 Slim work on the 4K TV? Will this affect the resolution of the games? Thanks for helping!

Hi,
The PS4 Slim will work on a 4TV. However you won't get a 4K display. You'd have to buy the PS4 Pro in order to get a 4K output as by default the regular PS4 and PS4 slim cannot support 4K.

The slim also does not have have optical out,this may or may not matter to you ofcourse.

If they have a home theater system, it very well could. I have no idea why they got rid of it on this PS4. There's been an optical port on every single PlayStation since PS2 launched until the PS4 Slim and Pro came out together.

Hey bud, if you are willing to buy a 4K TV and want to get a slim, why not spend the extra 100 dollars and grab a PRO. I have my OG PS4 hooked up to one of my PC monitors on my computer desk now and my PS4 PRO connected to my KS8500 and the difference is quite stunning in a lot of the games, especially games with HDR.
Why not have the future proof for a little extra money? Just a thought bud.
