Source: PS4 Will Allow You To Play Your Games From Multiple Consoles - IGN

Sony has confirmed that players will be able to access their PlayStation 4 game library by logging into their account from any console.

Speaking at the Develop conference in London, Sony R&D senior team leader Neil Brown explained that the process is possible thanks to “Play As You Download,” which will allow players to begin playing a game even before they’ve downloaded the entire thing.

“You can visit your friend’s house [and] log into your account and play any game from your digital library, which is good,” Brown said. “But how useful is that if it takes half a day to download the game you want to play? With Play As You Download you get much quicker access to at least the first section of the game so you can start playing quicker. So this makes a digital library a practical option in the real world.”

Sounds pretty good to me. Even though I only will be using one console, it's good for others :)

This sounds like a great step in the right direction. It's great that they're thinking of everything too, such as letting the first part download first. I think this decision's benefits will become even more apparent as internet speed standard go higher in the near future. I just wonder if it's possible that people will then just share their accounts? Also from the looks of the comments at IGN it looks like Xbox has pretty much the same feature, although I'm not really sure if that's true, I'll have to look it up later.

My buddy and I were able to do that with the 360 but it caused performance issues like none other. We were playing Left4Dead 2 and he was able to get to his profile to record his time and achievements. This is different than entire game library of course, but the technology is similar. I'm excited that they are talking about it now because with the new consoles coming up, its frightening to think what's going to happen to the content and money already invested on the system. I also want to be assured that if I got another PS 4 at some point that access to my games is as simple as a snap.

Pretty great news. Like you said, I'll only have one console but it's always nice to have extra features and I'm sure many others will enjoy this one. It's great how Sony has just been on a role ever since they revealed the console. It's like at this point they can do no wrong at the moment. Really hope they keep up the momentum.

Sharing is caring :)

Seriously, it's like Sony can do no wrong right now. It is nothing but positive vibes. For me I keep a console at my parents when I travel and play with my kids online. Sooner or later I will expand to 2 consoles.

What I like about Sony is that they are getting back to what made the Playstation 2 great. The PS 3 is nice, but its price was greater than the 360. It was hard to know what games were on it. It didn't really find its stride until the end of this generation's console wars. The Xbox One seems to be attempting to become a media center which is fine, but it doesn't promote itself well to gamers who are being given all this great PS 4 information and vibes.

We have the right to be happy, but the editors will put pass onlines. There are only EA has said they will put never again pass online.

I'm still happy that we can share our games with our friends and family easily. I imagine that two people can not play together on the same library on two different consoles.

It is still an advantage for the players. We are lucky on this one.
