PS4 Update

Anyone know when and what the next ps4 update will include?

I second this question. I can't wait Sony allows to download gameplays and images on external drives. There's also a rumour they will improve streams quality.

I am definitely wanting that external hard drive.. I also would like Youtube to be added to PS4 as well and the ability to upload to Youtube.

At the moment i have to share my 15 min game play video to Facebook and download it then upload on Youtube.

No news at the moment, but I really hope they add the notification pop-ups when your friends come online/offline!

Chris Owens tweeted that the features below will be included in PS4 firmware 1.70.

-HDCP off
-Export captures to USB
-Rich media video editor
720P Streams in the works

I am not too excited about it because i do not really care about those features listed. I will be excited when thy add media playback.

I think it also includes controller dimming feature.

Personally I dont care about recording gameplay and such.

Rubbish updates. none would benefit me... Like the Notifications pop up idea, how many times i have wasted going back and forth checking to see if my friends are online

True,I wonder how long it takes Sony to add that one. You would think that something that seems so simple would have been added quick,or actually infact I though it would have been in the initial FW that came in launch consoles.

Right now, I suppose they are working on some updates. I expect to see one this month.

I heard that Sony Japan said it would be at the end of April. The only one that I really care about is exporting to USB. Uploading it to FB then grabbing it from there and reuploading to Youtube is a hassle and compresses the video a lot.

Several days before it is released?

Will you be able to play it several days before it is released, or is there going to be some type of DRM that prevents you from playing until the release date? It would be great to play a game several days before everyone else.

Can you go in to more detail about this?

Yeah,you will be able to download it beforehand that way you will have it by the official release day but no,you cant play it before,it will only be playable on the official release date.
Im sure Sony did this to take into account that many people have slower internet connections,what might take an hour or less for some people will take days for others.

Having a look around the web, apparently Playstation Greece revealed the release date for this update accidently (which has since been taken down).

We're looking at a April 30th release.
