PS4 vs PS3

I just bought a PS4 and am not pleased. I don't see where games load faster (update took 199 hours , actually took one complete day). Bought several games and tried each, Mad Max was only OK and currently stuck with Elder Scrolls Online, which sucks, competition for chests etc. And the fact that weapons are kept so low that single player is too challenging when faced with more than two enemies. For me it was and is a waste of my money. Waiting for Fallout 4 and if it sucks I will go back to PS3. Just wanted to make my disdain for this system and current games public!

You went for the wrong games.
I agree the games are not as impressive as PS3's lineup(which is already matured and finished its life cycle) but there are plenty of brilliant games currently available on PS4.

Second Son, not my type of game, Shadows of Mordor are the other PS4 games I bought. I have no desire to keep buying games at $60.00 or more it becomes extravagant and needlessly expensive. I prefer First Person Shooters. PS3 favorites, Fallout 3 Fallout New Vegas, and have Skyrim. I stand by what I said. PS4 has been out for quite some time now. Maybe if enough people go back to PS3 software designers will accommodate us. Everytime a new system comes out there is so much hype and price initially is high. People will wait for the games to come out that satisfies their needs. Companies and software designers have us at their mercy. Games come out with bugs they refuse to fix. People are too accepting of flawed merchandise. New doesn't always mean better! I will wait for Fallout 4, so far though PS4 is unimpressive.

If you like shooters I think its better go with Xbox, they have good shooter base and most of their first party games are shooters.
PS4 and PS in general are more focused on story based games.

Something is not right here as most of the guys reasons have nothing to do with the PS4 even and apply to EVERY system.

The system and game updates depend on the speed of "your" internet, this would be the same for the PS3, Xbox One, 360, etc.... If your not happy with your internet speed, upgrade it, its not a thing to do with it being the PS4. I have the Xbox One too and its gets similar updates.

If you do not like Elder Scrolls Online for the reasons you gave, it is the same for EVERY platform so you would not like it on the PS4, Xbox One or even PS3 then. Not a thing to do with it being on the PS4.

Game bugs and how long developers take to fix also have nothing to do with the PS4, it is the same for every system and generation of consoles.

Also almost every PS4 game, except brand new releases can be found places like Amazon for almost 50% off. Right now ESO is $40 new $30 used, Shadows of Mordor is $30 new $15 used. Diablo 3 was $20 one place last week. Trick is to not preorder, wait a couple weeks after release and you will find most games a lot less or used.

There is also more than enough free content to try on PSN. PSN offers 10 Free to play games and has 12 free Demo's, that is 22 games you can play and/or try for free.

It sounds more to me like this guy has some kind of strange agenda as the majority of what he is saying have nothing to do with the PS4 and applies to every consol.

Do some research on games before you buy them. There's plenty of youtube videos and articles for ALL games so you can get an in depth look before you purchase. I don't see how this is a problem specific to the PS4 either, did you not purchase games for the PS3 you weren't satisfied with? Just doesn't make any sense. There wont be enough people going back to PS3 for anyone to accommodate them. PS4 is a great system regardless of how you feel about the games and your internet connection. As far as game bugs go I also haven't noticed anything extreme. I have yet to have issues with my PS4. I also own two PS3's but have not reverted back to them once. Oh and if Fallout 4 disappoints you upon its arrival, just sell your PS4 and go back to PS3 because you might be crazy.

Agreed ^^^ I think you've rushed into buying a PS4 without checking what's there to play. However i also agree the PS4 games library is a let down now, and i wouldn't recomend to freinds to get a PS4 yet. Before i get flamed for that, i have PS4, 2 PS3's, PS Vita, XB1, XB360 and play them all still.

If FPS games are your thing, then stick with PS3 or go Xb1. ( Titanfall IMO is the best FPS since COD4 but that is just me. )

Also IMO 2015 is by far Xb1's year! HOWEVER, i can see 2016 being the year that the PS4 finally shines. Uncharted 4, No Man's SKy ( A FPS game ), Dawn Horizon, and FF7 is a strong set of games

Point is i wouldn't give up on the PS4 for now, i'd just carry on with the PS3 for a while. I still play my PS3 loads even though i have PS4 and next gen consoles.

PS4 was recommended to me as being faster and better than PS3, my only agenda was and is to give my opinion of the PS4, which has not lived up to the hype. All else, regarding bugs comes from playing ps3 games that still have bugs and the creators have publicly stated they will not fix them. As to ESO, it is a let down as well. You all disagree? Fine. I will continue to keep my opinion.

Sounds to me you didn't do your homework about what exactly was "faster" or "quicker" and are now trying to blame others for your error.

Parts are faster and quicker, but there isn't much of a games library yet again something you should have looked into first.

However i TOTALLTY agree with you that the PS4 does not yet live up to the hype it's getting.

Lol. I agree with everything you said. Sounds to me like OP just doesn't like today's video games. And complaining about paying 60 bucks by OP? Sorry dude, this has been going on since forever. Games have always been around the 60 dollar range. Even when games were 40 bucks in the 80s and early 90s, adjust that for inflation and it is actually more than 60 in todays dollars. If cost is an issue, wait until the price drops in like 6 months and pick it up used or on a bargain. I game on a budget myself. I only pay 60 for my must have and highly anticipated games. Otherwise, if the game can wait, I wait a few months for the price to drop or pick it up used.

Um, the PS4 is faster than the PS3. It has a faster processor, more RAM and a much faster GPU. If you are talking about load times or download times, are you surprised it isn't faster? With a more powerful console you have more graphic intensive games. With more polygons and textures to render on a more powerful console, it will still take just as long to render it; it's a ratio of graphics to processing speed. Now if they took a game with the same graphics as PS3, it will no doubt load faster. And in terms of downloads, you are going from a game that may be 20 gigs on PS3 to at least double the size on PS4 because of the higher graphics. So no wonder the games take longer to download on the same download speed on broadband. It sucks, but if you know you are going to be downloading a full game, plan ahead. Start the download before you go to sleep or before you go to work and in 8 hours it should be ready for you; unless your internet speed totally sucks, which is then not Sony's fault.

It's not anyone disagrees, it more like all this has NOTHING to do with the PS4 really. Your ESO issues, you don't like the game no problem, I love it, its just not the PS4's fault as your complaints would be the same on the X1 or any system.

Same when Fallout 4 is released. It's available on multiple systems so if soon you do not like it, don't blame the PS4', you just don't like the "game".

Not sure where the PS4 is slower, loads everything much faster then my PS3, from booting up, to loading games and playing. Nothing about the PS4 is slower then the PS3.

You must have an incredibly slow internet connection for an update to take 199 hours (8.2 days). Not sure where you math is, one day is 24 hours, unless of course you meant to say 19.9 hours.

There are great games out there for the PS4, just sounds like they are not the games for you. Second Son is a really fun game and still looks amazing even though it was a launch day game. AC Black Flag is loads of fun, GTA V looks and plays much better then the PS3 version, Batman Arkham Knight, etc etc.

Okay here is the little tid bit about the playstation 3 that most people dont know
is the PS3 cell processor was quite a bit ahead of its time becuase on paper the that processor had more computing power then ps4 and xbox 1 combined it topped out about 230 gflops
ps4 and xbox1 roughly top out at about 105 gflops each
the ps3 processor much more complicated also to write software for wich im assuming was the big part of the reason why you saw so many 720p games

I've been pleased so far with my PS4. I think PS4 would be the winner of this thread long term seeing as it's a new console and there will be many new games to come. It's pretty common that some people will not be used to new generation consoles at first. But once more and more great games like Fallout 4 and more games on Assassin's Creed have time to come out. There will be less complaints about the system.
