PSN is getting hammered as new Playstation 4 owners try to get online

Yep,cause of the new PS4 owners getting PS4 by Christmas now we have trouble logging into PSN on PS4.
PS3 seems fine but PS4 is having trouble.

As a PS+ subscriber now cause of PS4 Im not getting entirely what Im paying for,as I sure many of you PS4 new PSN subscribers are not happy either.
You would think Sony would expect an influx of new connections and be prepared but no...wonder how long before its better again.

It's good news and bad news for Sony on Christmas Day. It's good news because millions of new Playstation 4 owners are opening their gifts. However, the bad news is that the influx of people trying to connect to the Playstation Network is causing slowdown, disconnections and errors

So that's why it took me so long to get connected last night. The What's New section took a few minutes to load. Even trying to connect to AC4 took a long time. I hope that it gets sorted out quickly, kind of a let down how Sony didn't anticipate this.

The servers are probably dealing with an unprecedented amount of users. I bet they didn't expect that many Xbox converts to come on around!

Now I'm honestly wondering why this is a shock to people. Okay, when the PS3 came out it had network issues....right. When it became Christmas for the first launch year. It had network issues, due to many getting one for Christmas etc.

I don't see why people are complaining. Its simple server strain and just because people paid money to get on I don't think that gives anyone a right to complain about how terrible the service is. It'll get better once they sort out the server issues.

I not bothering to get online until the kids go to school. I have 5 games and have yet to get online on any of them. But I'm patient and know it will be worth it.

You have a point,I mean a day or 2 fair enough I can understand and put up with it,but if these things go on for to long I would be not happy at all.
The thing is,if we are not getting what we pay for its not right is it?

Anyway,seems to be better now.

If it was happening for 2 days then yes we do have a right to complain. However Sony must be caught between a rock and a hard place. Think about it, they could probably fix the issue quicker by disrupting the people i.e. taking PSN offline for a day or so. However then people would be outraged and cruising Sony and all that. Either way Sony can't win right now because new people are joining PSN each day and therefore encountering countless issues which Sony can't solve instantly and therefore leading to more complaining.

It seems to be better now but the friends list bug is still very much present I think.

Actually I said if it were a day or 2 we would could be tolerant, but longer is stretching it.

As for the friends list bug,not sure Ive had any probs with that, without me googling it whats the problem with that?

Well, it is expected, in any platform (specially in PC) servers get bombarded with logging attempts whenever there is a new game or patch out. Maybe companies should forecast better the impact that a new release will have on their servers.

I wasn't mad about it because the same thing happened to Nintendo. The Wii U network went down because of the demands. Where I feel like Sony failed is in keeping us updated, it just felt like Nintendo was far more clear about the issue and what they were doing. I just felt like the Big N did a better job with customer service, which is a shame because Sony has been so on the ball.
