Recommended Games for Laptop

I suggest finding a Genesis emulator and playing a whole lot of Genesis games on it. I did this with my spare laptop and it provided me with hours of joy. Not only that, but any Genesis game will only amount to about around 2mb in terms of file size, so you don't have to worry about overcrowding your hard drive.

Not sure if you are a fan of the series, but I would recommend the Sims 3. You may want to hold out until Sims 4 comes out though. If you do pick it up, there are numerous expansions, so you will have hundreds of hours of gameplay available.

Since you have mentioned strategy games, I can highly recommend one game that is fun and at the same time, not hardware extensive. The game is the famous (or infamous) Civilization V. I just got the game 2 weeks ago, and I just can't stop clicking "next turn." It's too addicting! You should give it a try.
