Replaying: Resident Evil 4: Mercenaries

I just brought out my PlayStation 2 this morning and I have been enjoying playing some games. Yes, most of them no longer stand out because of my substantial play time with the PS3. However, one game that still holds up is Resident Evil 4. I played my heart out with it before and I played my heart out again a while ago. I played Mercenaries more than the story mode. It was such a heart pounding experience. Playing against the clock, trying to rack up points, it's great! I think I'm addicted all over again.

I never got around to playing Resident Evil 4 even though I hear nothing but good things about it. The only Resi Evil game I've played is half of RE5, which didn't really interest me as I thought Resident Evil was meant to be... scary? I don't know.

I played that it was awesome i totally prefer it over number 5, i didn't find 5 very exciting really it was pretty poor if you ask me the gameplay was no good and if you compare it to 4 then its completely different i hope they bring it back with better graphics.

Resident Evil 4 is the best in my opinion. I consider the first few Resident Evils to be pretty friggin' bad. Honestly, the terrible controls and camera are what people seem to like about REs, which honestly makes me think they are so bad that they are good or something. The b-movie plot is the best part.

Resident Evil 4 plays great but it is still Resident Evil, it's still a game that manages to be fairly scare despite also having a lot of action. It's the perfect balance between scary and action, which are the two opposites the franchise seems to stick to. I hope they make another game as balanced as RE4.

Definitely something to replay sooner or later, i feel like Resident Evil 4 Mercenaries is the best one, and Resident Evil 5 Mercenaries is the one of the worst, i really hated that setting.

Well, yeah they were. . . But I think that they started to become less scary and more action oriented in RE4. Then I think they completely forgot that it was supposed to be a survival horror game in part 6. Still, RE4 is scary. Just wait for the chainsaw wielding guys to come out and you'll be terrified no doubt.

That was my favorite Resident Evil game! I loved the story to it and it was just interesting and creepy. I've been trying to get my boyfriend to play it, though he hasn't made it too far yet.

I really enjoyed RE4 so much I bought the port for the Wii (which was a surprising good play). Honestly it managed to have just the right blend of "I'm going to die" and "Why would any individual do that?". Seriously though it was a great deal of fun and I wish that RE6 had been like it. I did manage to like RE5, but it did feel like a bit of a letdown.

I loved all of the WTF moments that cropped up. Chainsaw guys, Gigantos, that thing in the lake.. the night of the living dead house scenario. I loved it all!

RE: Mercenaries is just a minigame on RE 4. If I remember correctly, RE: Nemesis also had a mercenaries minigame. Anyway, in the mercenaries game, you could play as Leon Kennedy, Ada Wong, Wesker, some muscle-bound assassin named Krauser, and HUNK, a fully armed military dude.
