[Rumor] [IGN] Borderlands 2 Game of the Year edition coming soon?

The Unlosing Ranger

Mighty Strike-Out Slugger
Gearbox Software will release a Game of the Year Edition for Borderlands 2, a GameStop source told IGN today. The release date is unspecified now, but we've reached out to Gearbox for more information.

So yeah, apparently IGN has some source saying that Borderlands 2 GotY is in the works. Not surprising, honestly, but it's still just a rumor at the moment. I personally hope it's true and I hope that the Vita version has the same content as the GotY release and not just the content of the original release.

Yeah, I'm one of those that was counting on it. Given how they did it for the original Borderlands a year after release, I figured if I just waited, I could get a GOTY release of the sequel as well, and save some money vs buying all of the content separately. Given how popular it ended up, I figure its worth it to wait and get the whole bundle for a great game.

I had kind of given up on such a release once they announced that they would be making more, smaller DLCs after Tiny Tina's DLC campaign came out. Still, it makes sense: sell edition with all the big DLCs so that you have a bigger fanbase and a bigger attach rate for the newer small DLCs.

I just hope that the Vita version DOES include the same content as the GotY version.

The GOTY version has just been confirmed.

I would recommend it wholeheartedly to everyone. I own the game and picked up the season pass, aside from 1 poor piece of DLC (Big Hunt) and taking too long to increase the level cap and inventory slots (which new players won't have to worry about) its a great game with some quality DLC.

I'm not that surprised. The game was amazing and the DLC was just as good. Now that they sound like they're finished with releasing DLC it would make sense that the GOTY edition is coming out.

If someone was surprised with this in the first place, the next piece of news will blow your mind:

- Grand Theft Auto V will have a Game of the Year Edition with all the DLC released.

My head just exploded into a million pieces!

In all seriousness, I'll be buying this (assuming it's true) as soon as I'm done with the original Borderland GOTY edition.
