[Rumor] PS4 will be releasing on December 13th

Toys R Us' has potentially revealed the release date of the PS4 as shown above ; December 13 2013. This is also after the release date of the Xbox One which was potentially revealed as well to be released on November 29th. Which console do you think will sell better now? The one that's selling on Black Friday and 14 days earlier than the PS4, or the one that is selling before Christmas? Hard to decide, but will be interesting to see the two consoles battle it out.

According to the Xbox One preorder page on Toys R Us’ UK website, Microsoft’s new video game console is set to launch on November 29th. The same site states on the PlayStation 4 preorder page that Sony’s next-generation console will be available for sale beginning two weeks later on December 13th. While neither date is confirmed at this point, their presence on a website belonging to one of Microsoft and Sony’s retail partners could be a good sign.

Well maybe Toys R Us' is getting it late? Cause most consoles/games releasing near end of the year, usually go in November as people will buy them for Christmas. Decmeber 13th seems kinda late. Though December 13th would be nice, cause my birthday's the next day Also in the image it says the ps4 is for ages 3 and up. I would love to see 3 year olds playing ps4.

I guess the sooner it's released the sooner I'll be able to buy it months later! Though honestly I think it along with the Xbox One are going to be some pretty hefty releases in the coming months, definitely won't want to head to a store that sells either when they do eventually get released.

They need to ship everything, besides they need to make sure the game companies are ready to ship there games. Whats the point of having a console and not having games to play. Also gives them some time to do some last minute testing, and adding features. They also need to make enough consoles to send to every game store.

I think it would have been a better idea to ship it in October. That way, it would be just before the holidays and right at the start of when people like to spend the most money. December is good too. But that's too late to maximize the sales for the year for a launching system.

After all, for it to be official, it must be announced by each system's respective companies. I have a feeling that this will come very soon, most likely at the end of this month to early October.

I agree that December 13th is way too late for the Christmas holidays, since many people will have already finished their shopping sometimes three weeks in advance. Based on that screenshot, it can be concluded that this date is merely when Toys R Us will be shipping out the systems to those who bought it rather than a conclusive release date. The sales department is definitely much smarter than to have it released then.

Yep. Toys R'Us only lies about their sale prices and stock availability. Never items they carry or sell though.

I agree with our members here, December is too late and I'm confused as to this rumor's accuracy and its details, by which I mean if it were true, I don't know why they would release it so late and days behind the Xbox One, and if it isn't true then how can such a reputable company like Toys-R-Us publish such a thing especially since it does seem a little bit unbelievable. Still, I'm hoping to see it get released sooner rather than later, I'm ready to get all of this hype over and done with and get into the actual usage already.

Xbox One is getting released in November, so I hope they would release PS4 before the Xbox releases to gain the competitive advantage over it's rival.

I don't think they would release PS4 this late though. The date is inaccurate.

I would say end of November and begin of December.
December 13th just seems a little too much on top of Christmas, which is something that i don't think they would want.
