RUMOUR: PS4 to release November 13?

My daily search for PS4 news led me to this today via IGN: Has PlayStation 4?s Release Date Been Accidentally Revealed? - IGN

Basically, a member from NeoGAF found this advertisement at a local store in Netherlands which displays a November 13 release date.

Should also be noted that others in the thread point to European online outlets that also have the date pegged for November 13, 2013.

What do you think? Fake? Inaccurate?

I actually think that Sony will release it a month before. Sometime in October to coincide with Battlefield 4 considering that the game is meant to be a PS4 launch title as well as other titles. Just a guess though and I hope I'm right. One month less to wait

Well the Xbox One rumors say it's coming out on November as well. I don't think they will both release at the same month, if anything the PS4 will release a bit later. Most likely after the Xbox One, but definitely before Christmas.

Could be true. November is a good month for release. But why 13? Isn't that a number for bad luck? Don't elevators leave that number just to be sure? Also, it's pretty easy to photoshop pictures nowadays. So who knows? It could be true that the release would be November but I think the date would not be 13.

Eh, I don't know. You know how a lot of people are for these things, always trying to start rumors that are fake. It could be possible though, you never know. Personally, I think it'll come out in December but that's just me.

I think it might be true, since it is probably in their best interest to release this right before and in time for Christmas, as I suspect it will give their system a great head start especially after the good reception and reassurance they have gotten this past event. I hope it's true, and I can't wait to see what happens.

It's true, as Christmas time and the other holidays roll around, people will be filling their wallets looking for things to spend it on, for themselves or for gifts. November to early December seems to be the most favorable time for release, but I wouldn't outright shun the possibility for a release in October. As someone else has said, there are many games whose date of release is set for sometime in October. I'd imagine that's just when the pre-order exclusive paraphernalia will be shipped out, and for people to say they have the game before the system is released. Don't quote me on this, but something seems off about that poster, especially if you compare it to Sony's other posters.

A release in November makes much more sense. I was confused on why they release it after the holidays. The sooner the better thpugh.

Makes no difference to me, really. I'm not planning on buying one, but I am curious about the details and such. Releasing it right before the holidays is a smart move since they'll be sold out right away and likely to be re-stocked by Christmastime.

I'd think that it being released before the big holiday rush is a good idea. This will mean that it can secretly sneak its way into the hands of many buyers before sales come around, and then get a second wind soon after thanks to Christmas.

It is a genius marketing scheme if they decide to do that.
