Rumoured April Playstation Plus (Europe) content

Once again we at GamePointsNow have got our grubby hands on the latest EU Playstation Plus offerings. As ever until it’s all officially confirmed we have to state it as rumour.

PS4 owners get another indie title from the PC while for the PS3 crowd there’s stealth & the FOX engine, but not what you’re thinking sadly. The Vita offerings are looking up slightly however after a rough couple of months.

This months offerings are:

PS4: Mercenary Kings
PS3: PES 2014, Sly Cooper Thieves in Time
Vita: Hotline Miami, Moto GP13

I haven't had time to read up much on Mercenary Kings, although it appears to be a 4-player Co-Op game. Exciting

I know its the free game for PS+ subscribers on PS4 and the library of games on PS4 is rather limited but come on,I didnt buy a PS4 to play games like Mercenary Kings,these look like 16-bit games from Sega MegaDrive/Genesis and Super Nintendo days.
No way would I actually pay for a game like that on PS4.

This has been the complaint of a lot of next gen adopters... Both X1 and PS4...

I think it's mostly due to the fact that $$$ is very tight... AAA titles take YEARS to develop (the good ones at least) and right now many publishers/studios are being very careful about what they release. For them it's simply too much risk, pumping millions into a project, only to have it sell half of what it was expected... A perfect example of this is BioShock Infinite... The game was A-MA-Zing... Yet it took waaaay to long to develop. Sure, it got great reviews and everyone loved it, but sales wise it was sub par!

So, many developers are opting to ditch the old oppressive publisher, ahem EA's and what not, for something with more creative flexibility. Which would explain why INDIES have literally exploded on the scene... They have become "THE GAP" closer in between AAA titles release dates... A sort of patch me up, until the next big thing... I'm sorry to say, but if you don't like Indies, they're here to stay... They're cheap, short and get people busy until the next big thing...

But hey, at least give em a chance Im sure u'd have some sort of fun playing Mercenary Kings!

I'm also not a big fan of indie games.

I get consoles for AAA games, I know many people are into indie games, but personally I dont care about them.
I know lots of great developers jumped into the bandwagon of creating indie games, but soon the hype will go away and we will again see a rise in AAA games.

It really does. That's not a bad thing though. I'll thumbs up Razor's relating it to Metal Slug. It's a lot like that having played it.

Yeah, the game looks like a lot of fun, but... this is the kind of thing people are complaining about in the Wii U. When half your interesting games are indies...

Well I personally feel the same way as Oberon on this issue. The thing is they have a fair few indie games on the store. Personally I've been hoping for Super Motherload 2 because that game has fairly nice visuals and look cool. Personally for me, the PS+ should be about showing off the consoles features such as Resogun did and some of the other Indie titles we've had.

Plus why can't they give us Tomb Raider for free as our 'game of the month' because let's face it....its been out for a year and the definitive edition has probably made as much money as its going to. I'm really shocked that the company that made Tomb raider didn't offer a 'upgrade' programme because why would I spend £40-50 on the same game I already have for the PS3.

In my eyes its pretty shocking.
