Screen tearing enough, advice please

I've had quite a bit of screen tearing occurring.. Every hour or so I get about 3 minutes of screen tearing happening. I'm not sure if there's something wrong with my system or not, because I have a brand new 600hz plasma in game mode (samsung f8500). Do you guys get that also? It happens with every game. Do you think it's my system with that faulty hdmi problem? Any advice would help!!

Are you using a standard HDMI cable? Does connecting anything else to the same television also have the same symptoms? Check the connection and make sure everything is in place. It might just be an issue with the console or the games though, if so it'll likely be fixed in a patch.

The first thing you should do is test the HDMI cord. Try a different HDMi cord with your system and try the one you are using with the system with a different cord. If it is continuing as long as all the setting on your TV and PS4 are correct then I'd say it's the PS4, especially if the PS4 is the only thing causing your TV to do this. I'm sure Sony will take care of it if it is the PS4.

What is the ACTUAL refresh rate of your tv? I know many have much higher numbers but thats because they count "sub fields" and that fudges the numbers. If you're experiencing screen tearing, high refresh rate on the tv isnt the issue, its high refresh rate on the PS4 or too low refresh rate on the tv.

Screen tearing is when the console is drawing the frames so quickly that the tv loses pace and goes out of sync. Its trying to draw the next frame before the last one is gone.
