Self-publishing coming to Xbox 360 this August, says developer | Polygon

Only a short amount of time ago, Microsoft announced that they were doing an 180 and would allow indie developers to self publish on their next gen console, the Xbox One. Now, a developer says the same policy change will be taking place on the Xbox 360 as well. The developer says the change will take place in August and that Microsoft will explain in more detail at Gamescom.

Hopefully indie developers have still decided their path on the PS4. Microsoft has ruined their reputation with the Indie community.

So how does that work? Are they extending the 360 cycle or what? Also what requirement would this require? I feel like MS is just throwing things up to see if they'll stick and kind of hoping for the best. It is really rather annoying all things considered. That said I can't say I blame them after all the brouhaha.
