Should I buy a Vita?

I think the PlayStation Vita is totally worth its price to me. It is by far the most powerful handheld gaming system out on the market right now. There are some good titles that have been released for the handheld as well, but to be perfectly honest most games are just alright. If you're not willing to dish out the full price for a PlayStation Vita, you could probably pick up a used one at GameStop for about $150.

If you think about it, it's kind of cheap. The Vita is a great system, I've played Boderlands with it and I loved it although the Vita doesn't really have that much appeal to me as the previous generations of the PSP. But if I were you, I would definitely check out the games first because most of the time people buy consoles and totally forget about the games they're about to get. I'm not saying that there are no great games on the Vita I'm just saying that you should scout for the games first.

No, it's got nowhere near enough titles and it no longer has first party game support. It's dying already..

I think sony is pushing the vita heavily right now especially with the PS4, so I think in the future it's worth the buy but right now I don't really see the point. I mean it really hasn't got that many titles on it right now and the only decent game you can play on it is monster hunter.
So overall I'd say hold off until they get more titles.

If you like the niche games that are on it (lots of Japanese games) or if you like indie games, you will probably not regret the Vita at all. I play my Vita about as much as any other console/pc gaming but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for traditional "western" games or blockbuster titles (even some of them that have came out like Batman, COD, and Resistance have been pretty big failures). If you search the Vita games that have recently released or are getting ready to come out, you should get a good sense of whether it is for you or not.

I don't know if I can justify spending $200 on a handheld game. Its really nice and I liked using it but I don't know how much I would use it.

I was playing one last night and after having the chance to play it I will tell you that I am really considering getting one. I think the reason that I liked it so much was that it had my favorite game on it which is Uncharted. I think that it is worth the price because the graphics that I saw last night were beyond that of great for a handheld.

sure, its not just a ahndheld console, its an MP3 player, it surfs the web, has Wifi...it even takes pictures, so I'd say yes, its worth the cash...

You can do all those things with a laptop and it has alot more games for it..

I am a Vita owner and I have to say, even at $200 it's not worth it.

Here's my experience... I bought the machine on a bundle deal, got Uncharted for free, got a heavy discount on Gravity Rush, both of which are VERY good games. Picked up Wipeout for $20 which was a steal at the time... then, having exhausted the quality games at the time, proceeded to sit on my hands while I waited for another high quality game to come out.

Months later, I picked up LittleBigPlanet and finished it in short order and then only had to wait a month or so for Assassin's Creed. The problem with Assassin's Creed is that it had a game breaking bug that wasn't fixed for 2 months. It would corrupt your saved game and prevent you from going forward, all you could do was start over. I ended up shelving that game for 2 months before I could actually play it.

And then, having finished all the worthwhile games, I got desperate enough to get a digital title, Escape Plan, which pretty much stunk up the place. I then began a serious wait. My next game purchase wouldn't be until this month when Dragon's Crown came out. It doesn't look like there's anything else until Killzone in October and Tearaway in November.

I don't want to tear down these games, most of them are great, some of them (Dragon's Crown, Escape Plan) are not. But I shouldn't go through a 9 month waiting process to find a game I want to buy and I've done that twice now.

Add to that the fact that there's nothing on the horizon past Tearaway and you have a very, very sad situation for the Vita. Oh, I know, I know... "PS4 Remote Play". But you know what? I didn't spend $250 on a portable monitor, OK? If the only use for the Vita beyond November is as a PS4 controller then that's fine, but the price needs to be $99 for that.
