Silent Hills PS4 Gameplay P.T Demo Part 2

I have a lot to say about this Demo, but not so much here. This is a great way to show off your tech for your upcoming game. This P.T. took the internet and community by storm and it was done in such a way that it was memorable and surprising. Everyone really had a good time from its introduction and I wouldn't be surprised if future devs attempt to do something similar with their own games. Its hard to hide what you're making, but this game did it and then boom here you are.

It was a very good demo even if some parts were frustrating and silly I can't wait till it gets released next year about time we had another decent silent hill to dig are teeth into :)

Good demo. Silent Hill has always been one of my favorite horror games. Looks creepy as hell. Does he ever get out of the house? If the whole game revolves around the house, I think it will fall short compared to the old ones.

Wait, is this P.T. Demo #2 or your gameplay video #2? It is a silly question, I am certain, and the content in the video is identical to the P.T., but hey this game was a mind$*@% to begin with...

THIS GAME LOOKS SO REALISTIC! I understand that since there isn't much action so the visuals can look this nice, but its still refreshing to see something so awesome-looking on one of these newer consoles I paid so much money for. I can't wait for this game, it actually looks and feels scary unlike most recent horror games. I still remember playing the original Silent Hill 1 on PSX and being scared in that hospital like damn near everyone else. This game looks like its just as unsettling, and the whole Groundhog-Day/timehopping experience is an amazing gameplay aesthetic. I wonder if there will be other styles of gameplay?

It feels alot like the Japanese import PSX title "LSD: Dream Emulator" at this point, and that's AMAZING!

The Fox engine is doing the trick fro this game. It looks and plays amazing. While I have not tried the playable teaser myself, I have seen people play it on YouTube. It looks frightening to say the least.

As I've said before, 'P.T' really looks incredible. Even without a PS4 yet and watching various walkthroughs on YouTube, it clearly looks 'next gen' (I hate that phrase). About the second game in close to a year where I can truthfully say I've seen any notable difference.

As far as the game goes, if that's a snippet of what's in the pipeline for the next Silent Hill game, then certainly count me in. I'm a huge fan of the series and have completed all the games (the first four several times over). It has that unique Silent Hill 'feel' about it, where the horrors are predominantly physiological with only a few tasteful jumpscares. Few horror games, certainly over the last 8/10 years, have been able to achieve that balance successfully. As I said in another thread on this, the 'PT' teaser did painfully impress me. This certainly has a lot of potential and it's something I fully intend to follow developments on.

I highly doubt the game would simply revolve around the house in the demo. Silent Hill 4 (The Room), revolved around an individual apartment but there was a way to 'escape' it via a hole in the bathroom that lead to other areas. Admittedly, that did come in for some criticism at the time but I thought it was a neat concept that was executed very well. It seems to be growing more fans as the years have gone by, too. As we know nothing more about the game than simply the 'PT' demo, I don't think any of us can speculate much further. Given the trailer shows an in-depth exterior footage, it would be a shame not to actually use it as part of the environment. It would be a heck of an omission in my opinion. What I would like to see is that 'L' shaped corridor demo maybe featuring as part of a puzzle – maybe with one or two more clues or perhaps an alternative objective.

My biggest concern will be the story. How will this 'Walking Dead' character (sorry, forgot his name – I don't watch the show) tie into an already well established franchise? This is a potential 'banana-skin' for me. Whilst I have no objection to that character being there, what I do and will object to is if he becomes an overriding factor in what's supposed to be the world of Silent Hill. The classic 'fitting a square peg into a round hole' syndrome. There will be some very upset fans out there if it's not done correctly – myself included.

LSD: Dream Emulator is an incredible game. Ignoring the graphics (which I always do – gameplay means more to me), the depth that game has is unbelievable. It was the first true game which almost phonologically tortured those who played it…! You're best playing it completely alone and at night to get it's full effect. I have many fond memories of it.

With regards to a release date to the next Silent Hill, I think we're probably looking at something like 2016… From my understanding from what I've read, near enough nothing has been produced and the teaser was really all about what they can do - rather than what they're well underway with…

The breathing and the screams are creepy, the whole walking around in circles things makes you pay attention; but if this is just a hint at what it'll be like then God help us. Guillermo pulled off creepy with Pan's Labyrinth, and now they've let him have reign over Silent Hills. I don't think it's the character from Walking Dead, just the actor. It's probably like Beyond: Two Souls where they used Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe for the characters. If the game does revolve around the house, you know there'll be some escape route somewhere, you'll just have to drive yourself insane first before you find it (or look up a walkthrough.) The fact that they've referenced Shizuoka Prefecture where Mt Fuji is located makes me wonder if they may tie it into Aokigahara (forest at the base of Mt Fuji, a renowned suicide spot.) I know, I'm probably reading too much into it but with Guillermo behind this game, nothing's too far fetched with him.

Again it's creepy scary and weird everything we want a silent hill game to be just give us a release date so the anticipation can grow :)
