Skyrim!

Is anyone else super-excited about TES Skyrim? I can't wait until it comes out. My main debate is whether to buy it for my PC, or my PS3. I like PS3 controls better, but the game is much more mod-able on the PC...

With Christopher Plummer, Max von Sydow, Joan Allen and Lynda Carter providing voices it sounds incredible. I don't have the gaming capability on my laptop so I'll look into getting it when I go up to a PS3.

Yes! I've been unbearably excited for this game since it game out. I'll be getting the PS3 version as my laptop is a "work and old games only" sort of deal. Hence my console collection

I just hope it doesn't disappoint. I didn't think Oblivion was that great. It did hook me for a while but eventually it just got repetitive. I was really excited for Dark Souls too, but turns out it isn't anything to rush to the store over.

I love Oblivion, but I've modded the heck out of my copy. Have you seen the artwork for Skyrim? It looks like they've improved the appearance of pretty much all the races (although Wood Elves still look pretty terrible.)

I am pretty excited about getting Skyrim. Hopefully, it does not disappoint me. I hate getting all worked up, and then let down. I wonder why they could not make the Wood Elves look any better?

I don't know, but they look bad. The combination of piggy eyes and pointy chins just doesn't look good. The altmer don't look much better, though I think they took a step in the right direction with the dunmer.

So - did anyone end up getting this yet? I've been very sick with a bad case of the flu so a friend of mine surprised me with a copy last night. I was so excited! I have to say within an hour of gameplay I did notice Bethesda's trademark lack of polish, but so far the game itself is enjoyable. The world is very pretty and melee combat is MUCH more fun than it was in Oblivion. Shields are actually fun to use instead of a big pain. I need to get farther in before I make a true judgment as so far I'm not quite convinced.
